Sunday Igboho Denies Spokesman, Olayomi Koiki On Alake Of Egbaland Attack

Yoruba secessionist agitator Sunday Adeyemo, otherwise known as Sunday Igboho, has distanced himself from a statement that angry Yoruba youth would invade the palace of the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.

Igboho’s spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, had in a viral video, threatened the Oduduwa agitators would soon attack the monarch in his palace and other traditional rulers unsupportive of their agitation.

But Igboho’s Senior Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dapo Salami, said the statement was made solely by Koiki.

The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, had last week, warned that it was in the best interest of all Nigerians to remain one, regardless of the current challenges.

The monarch said Nigeria could not afford another civil war nor could any nation absorb the huge numbers of Nigerians that could be displaced by wide-scale violence.


Igboho’s Senior Adviser on Media and Publicity said: “Chief Sunday Igboho has nothing to do with this declaration by Koiki, though Koiki is Igboho’s spokesman. But on this particular one, Chief is not in support.

“The Alake of Egbaland is a major leader in Yorubaland whom we honour and have so much reverence for. Igboho will never say he wants to go and invade his palace.

“Koiki came in from the United Kingdom so he does not understand some things. We are not for violence; we are not going to invade any Oba’s Palace. We respect them all, they are our fathers and we will never disrespect them.”

Igboho seems to be overestimating his importance and influence which is making him
issue threats and attacking any opposing voice.

You can't attack people with dissent views. Infact you need their arguments to succeed because they will open your eyes to others areas that need proper planning. This was the reason why Biafra failed, Ojukwu didn't know that guns and armored tank is just 20% of war.

In Yoruba land it is not acceptable for anybody to insult a 'revered' King.

Traditionalist like Sunday Igboho know better so he wouldn't want the wrath of the gods.

Kings are sacred.

Not Kings like Oluwo because obviously that one is a bastard and he is not a revered king.

Threatening opposing voices with violence is what some people consider as bravery.
