The president of this country just handed out over 60 oil wells to "UNKNOWN" people and all of you are quiet Is there any bigger corruption case than this? Is Nigeria Buharis property? Why secret? What are they hiding? What's going on!?!?
Within the last few years, Buhari who has doubled as the minister of petroleum, has renewed over 60 oil well licences, and all were kept secret too!!!
People, this is not buharis or fulanis oil wells. This man is auctioning off sensitive economic assets of the country to cronies, while shouting "anti corruption" all over the place! Buhari is the corruption he needs to fight..
breakup is the last solution

Government of lies, by lying and for the gullible.Perhaps they are tired of their own lies of not paying the so called fraudulent fuel subsidy they denounced as non-existent

As someone rightly said up there, govt have really taken the docility of the citizens for granted otherwise there ought to have been a massive uprising against this useless lying APC govt for brazenly insulting the sensibility of sane Nigerians on this subsidy issue.

They always have been paying a subsidy. If not, if Buhari had removed subsidy completely and truthfully in 2015 , fuel would have cost N200 and above by 2016. If not higher

Also so long as government sets the price of fuel there is a subsidy.

Subsidy has always been difficult for governments past and present to remove. So what has always been done is a partial removal of subsidy .

The truth is it ia high time subsidy went. It has always cost us trillions of naira. Plus we need the money saved

Was it not same thing the Jonathan govt wanted to do once and for all in 2012 that the same Buhari and the crooks in the APC cried out like witches that it will inflict hardship on Nigerians?

Hardship we should have endured since when the exchange rate of the $ was higher? Why the policy somersault now after many years of shameless lies? So who have been approving the subsidies the government has been paying-NASS?

They are warning Nigerians?

That's why I said this administration gets away with a lot of things... So automatically, any time the international crude oil barrel price increases, the pump price will increase in Nigeria?

Don't these guys know that when petrol pump price increases in Naija, it automatically leads to inflation in price of other things?

120bn/(234-162)/30days= 55.5m litres of PMS daily?

DPR still maintains below 40m consumption level.

What's going on here?

You have just shown one big reason why subsidy must go

Big time corruption

1.GEJ wanted to do the same thing. It was the right decision. But sadly millions of Nigerians did not see it that way. Nigerians tend not to see long term benefits, all we see is daily bread. And fuel subsidy removal threatens our daily bread.

They did not see the potential benefits of brand new refineries built by private investment, and new jobs and an eventually a fall in fuel prices and us exporting fuel. All they saw was N65 to N141.

At some point keeping fuel cheap is going to cost you billions of money that could have been used for other things.Like new refineries

It is time to let subsidy go. Many African countries who are poorer than us pay higher for fuel.

Subsidy has cost us billions in lost revenue and investment in new refineries and by extension jobs. Plus since 2012 the oil revenue has not been able to sustain the subsidy well. Time to let it go

But people like you were shouting when Jonathan wanted to remove the subsidy and fix the refinery when the price of crude was booming. Now that the economy is hard is the right time to remove the subsidy abi, iro , awọn hippocrites

120 billion for subsidy every month.
How much would it cost to build a refinery and apart from PMS we get to enjoy other by-products.
Encourage those who refine crude locally so they improve.
It means the speculated price we saw weeks back was real but everyone of them denied.

It might

But the truth is, it is costing our economy trillions of naira to keep the subsidy

Even when our revenue was sky high in 2012 it cost us triliions of naira down a very big hole. And it also led to poorly run and poorly funded refinreis which can't make a profit to maintain themselves properly and a culture of sabotage wirhin those same refineries since workers get paid whether refinery works or not

It prevents most refinery licence holders from building new refineries since subsidy means theywill end up refining fuel at a loss

Also oil prices are not high enough to keep on maintaining subsides

Plus by its very nature it lends itself to corruption

Finally we are losing billions to smuggling of fuel to countries where it sells for 300 naira and above.

At some point we have to face the truth. Subsidy costs our economy badly

I was against subsidy removal from 1993 when i first became aware of it as a teenager

It was GEJs attempt to remove subsidy that led me to start educating myself on why subsides were bad for the economy and led to me backing subsidy removal since 2012.

I was opposed to GEJ, but his subsidy removal was not opposed by me.( I am.no Buhari supporter either. Especially since he claimed to want to make fuel 40 naira per liter which showed he did not get how damaging subsides were)

Naivety will make you argue this but followership has done more harm to this country (Forced Union) than leadership

Good and effective followership begets good leadership most times

We the people of this country (Forced Union) don't know our role as the people who own governance

We accept anything thrown at us without any reaction that will make them have a rethink

I witnessed the years of ₦15.00/Litre, even less and I'm about to witness above ₦200/Litre

I witnessed and ran the errand of ₦3.00 long bread

We just accept these things without effective reaction

We are so much naive of the power we have as the people

Why can't everyone, every single one just stop buying it

It's going to be difficult but it's going to be very effective

But alas, we can't make these sacrifices for the greater good

Look where it's got us

Look what it's cost us

They make these decisions not even thinking of what we will do because we always do nothing

That's how bad followership has begotten the kind of bad leadership we have in this amalgamation

You are right i am sure

But subsiding fuel has cost our economy trillions of naira yearly and worsened our debt profile. And it no longer works.

At some point we have to accept that we cannot eat our cake and have it

CRIMINALS

GEJ will be laughing at NIGERIANS

What will happen if our refineries are working, God blessed NIGERIA with GOOD RESOURCES but we are PUNISHING ourselves, everything is on the increase, one liter of Engine oil of #400 before is now #1700 all because we don't have a working refineries, what would have happened if we don't have crude oil for example.

Any marriage that cannot work should be separated or divorced, it is time to break NIGERIA, let every region go on their own

Oga the ones they removed from #87 to #145 and from 145# to 168# we are buying nkor? Oga we are probably the number one oil producer in Africa and should not be compare to other poorer non oil producing Africa countries in terms of oil fuel price. This is what we produce and we are supposed to have it cheap here. U can't be comparing us with Niger republic or Lesotho interns of fuel price because we produce oil at large here in our country and they don't..... Oga even if Buhari increase the fuel price to #1000 per liter, there will be nothing to show for after His tenure. And even in 100yrs to come there will no good effect to show for that sometime ago Buhari remove subsidy to #1000, because all the money will still be looted.

Simple. The value of the naira has fallen since Jonah's time when crude cost 100 dollars per barrel so not enough dollars to raise the value of the naira due to fall in crude prices since 2014( we had it as low as 30 dollars in 2016)

Also the revenue available now to subside fuel is less rhan it was under Jonah's time again due to low oil prices. We are making at least 40 dollars less per barrel of crude compared to 2012. Laat year it was as high as 80 dollars less per barrel. In 2016 it was 100 dollars less per barrel.

And even then in 2012 Jona wanted to remove subsidy completely because even at that high oil price it was no longer sustainable. Nigerians said no then.
