The director of the State Security Service [SSS] in Ondo state, Mr. Ayodele Adeleke has asked the state government to ensure that development reaches the Ese-Odo local government.

Mr. Adeleke said this at an arms surrender ceremony where four ex-militants tendered about 60 single barrel guns, 60 machetes, 21 spears among other items.

The ex militants, Francis Ikuenogbon, Thomson Kereotiu, Justice Odogbo and Arerepade Ake, explained that the need for peace and development in the Niger-Delta region of Ondo state spurred them to submit their illegal arms and ammunition to security agents.

Mr. Ayodele Adeleke who assured of safety of lives and property of the people, noted that the militants had taken a right step to peace and development of their community in Ese Odo local government area of the state.

He therefore urged others who had not surrendered their weapons to do so, as they would be adequately protected.
