…Approves Site For Fed Poly

Damaturu-
Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum is in Monguno where he supervised the distribution of N325 million and variety of food to over 100,000 households displaced by Boko Haram and denied access to farmlands, businesses and other means of livelihood.

Monguno is the most populated part of northern Borno, within Nigeria’s portion of the Lake Chad region, which has faced the most severe attacks from Boko Haram in recent years.

Displaced households from local government areas: Kukawa, Marte, Ngnazi and Guzamala currently stay at government controlled camps in Monguno town.

Zulum departed Maiduguri to Monguno by road Monday, passed the night, and following day, supervised distribution of cash and food items.

Thousands of bags of food grains, sugar and wrappers were distributed to 65,000 male heads of households and 35,000 female heads of households.

Each head of household received three bags of rice, Maize grain, and beans, while each the female beneficiaries were additionally given a wrapper and N5,000.

He approved site for Federal Polytechnic
aside supervising food and cash distribution to displaced households, Zulum assessed and approved a site for the location of Federal Polytechnic in Monguno, which the Federal Government recently approved, following which the Governor paid visit to the Minister of education in January, this year, with a promise to provide land and any support required from Borno state government.

Isn't this the ultimate aim of Nigeria? To take money from the south and share to all?

Good gesture but tp what end?.. what is the longevity of this?. N325m would set up a Nigerian renowned factory in that community that would employ and feed those families for life directly and indirectly.. bags of grains or maize would always finish and they would return back to square one..

The Govt should start an initiative.."One factory per village", it would be indigenous, most specifically and restricted on the major raw material/produce of that village/community for cost effectiveness.. that is the only way to get the manufacturing mantra kick started. Alongside rapid development of rural areas..

The impact of a well educated man. Unlike the failed monument in London right now... Seeking unto other country's doctors while His own doctors just embarked on a strike.. undecided

Does he give a flying fvk if the patients in critical situations die? He is there on Hus usual pleasure check while others have no hope to go anywhere else for treatment

Did you read the article, displaced by boko haram...can you think of that at the sound of war?

Seems you don't even get the situation of the place. Your suggestion is good but not appropriate.

No, no, no, no, no, this ain't right...
Kind gesture, I agree.

Asides the fact that both amount and household figure are highly exaggerated,

If we keep giving fish, and never thought how to fish, we'll always be one step forward and three steps backward... That's our problem in Nigeria, it's not as if this displaced people were well to do or middle class citizens in the first place, they've always been poor, no offense...

Such brainless and propagandrous leaders we have, what a shame.

this guy happen to be my best governor since 1999, he has all Avenue to steal money in the state but he always stand out. he was the only governor to share tangible palliatives during the lockdown when my governor and others were hiding the ones meant for the people of their state.
God bless Zulum

I like your idea, but I think you should also consider the fact that these people need food to survive you can't setup a factory in 3 months in this naija, that quantity of food he gave may take them more than 3 months, meanwhile the developmental infrastructures are being put in place.
