[url][/url][img][/img]Erling Haaland is the ‘perfect candidate’ to replace departing Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero.

That’s according to former City midfielder Trevor Sinclair, who says the Premier League will be ‘sad’ to see the legendary striker leave.


Aguero is the fourth highest goalscorer in Premier League history

Aguero will end his ten-year association with Man City when his contract expires at the end of the season, the club announced on Monday evening.

He has scored 181 goals in 271 Premier League matches and netted one of the division’s most iconic goals to win City a dramatic top-flight crown in 2012.

Already talk has moved on to who City and their billionaire owners will bring to the club as a replacement for their all-time record goalscorer.

And Sinclair, who played for City between 2003 and 2007, believes Borussia Dortmund goal machine Haaland is the ideal replacement for Aguero.

He told talkSPORT: “Haaland gets involved in a minimal way in the build-up, which is almost what City like.

“A little bit of one and two-touch, playing the way you’re facing, going through the lines, then you’re getting those little slip balls down the side of the box or a pull back.

“It seems like Haaland with his rise over the last couple of years would be the perfect candidate for me.

“With his connection with his dad [Alf-Inge, who played for Man City], the style of football, he would be my choice.”
