2023: How PDP May Use Permutation Of Presidential Candidate's Zone To Defeat APC by Blogsphere: 7:12am On Apr 03, 2021 |
Barely two years to this time, another general election would be conducted in Nigeria. While the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would want to remain in power, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are also working hard to get back to the seat of power. There has been discussion on zoning permutation and how it may shape the election. Already there is a likelihood that the APC may consider a Southerner as its candidate for the presidency seat while the PDP may settle for a northerner. As of the time of this report, permutations are still on going and nobody has really spoken on white paper on how the selection process of either of the parties would be. It is politics and the language in Nigeria is that morality, religion, equity, fairness and justice are secondary while the interest of the political players are considered primary. A thorough look at the situation of things in the opposition PDP is that the chances of the presidential candidate coming from the north is much more higher than southerner consideration. The southerners have always take the lead in PDP since 1999. The party ruled for 16 years and of the 16 years, the South – between Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan – spent 13 years and 25 days, cumulatively. The only northerner who ruled during this period was the late Umar Musa Yar’Adua and due to his illness, he only spebt two years and 341 days in office. If equity is to be considered, PDP would do justice by ensuring that its presidential candidate comes from the northern zone in 2023. APC understands that the current president is from the north and after its eight years tenure, the party would consider South. If the ruling considered this, then it would be counter productive for the PDP not to be wise in ensuring balance in its party. In fact, a failure to do this would make the poll walk over for the APC. Ideologically, like some northern PDP members worked with the APC in 2015 to elect President Buhari, many northern APC members would also work with the PDP to elect whoever it brings forward. Those clamoring for PDP to zone the presidency to the south can blackmail the party but to have a better chance in 2023, only a northern candidate can help defeat the incumbent. No one would vote PDP in 2023 especially if they field a Northerner As a matter of fact Zoning it North would cause total collapse of Nigerian Sovereignty You sef abeg reason am... Which Southerner would vote a Fulani man again, is it Shasha people in Ibadan, Yewa people of Ogun, Orlu people in Imo, Ebonyi people, Berom people in Benue, Kogi people or Pleatue people . 4 Likes |

Power returns North 2023... Yoruba people must support Tinubu to contest apc primaries After all he’s the Jagaban of yorubaland and already have 50 million yoruba votes in waiting 2015 Yoruba embraces north ... and 2023 Yoruba people is telling southerners to abandon North One is talking orlu Benue..... typical Yoruba sleeping on power bike. Tinubu and osibanjo must contest No excuses No change of narratives No twist or revisionist We must all encourage the brown teeth crook because he’s a “ Yoruba man and southerner” Very stupid and daft dull reasoning 1 Like |

Those clamoring for PDP to zone the presidency to the south can blackmail the party but to have a better chance in 2023, only a northern candidate can help defeat the incumbent. Forget about online noise, if Apc zone their presidency to Southern Nigeria, the 2023 election would be a walk in the park for Apc.. Northerners would have completed straight 8 years as president... Most Southerners would prefer any candidate presented by Apc irrespective of party affiliation cos Pdp zoning their presidency to North means the likes of SE wasted their time with the party. That's harsh and rude... Pdp possible candidate should be Atiku, another Fulani which Nigerians are praying for the current one to complete his term and leave. Before 2023, reasonable numbers of Southern politicians would have deserted Pdp cos Southern presidency irrespective of which region in the Southern Region is Win Win situation... Umahi, Gbenga Daniel ( Used to be close Atiku ally) must have seen the clearly written words on the wall. |

PaChukwudi44:Why didn't the Northern votes make GMB become the president before 2015? The APC will win the 2023 presidential election, and the candidate will be Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu. You keep lumping the South South and South East together. Please stop this nonsense. The APC won a Governorship election in Bayelsa state. Tinubu will have nothing less than 45% of the vote in the south south. |

Okoroawusa: All Northerners are not Fulanis, in fact they are minority (about 14 million) However if a Northerner would nominate a President it's always going to be Fulani... Even Kanuris or Hausas can't and won't challenge that . |

Let me tell u guys the truth.. Nothing like South will vote Tinubu because he is a southerner.. The only united south we have politically is South East/South South..... You guys are talking as if Tinubu is popular in the whole south..... I can tell you guys that PDP will always win south east/south south with any candidate they field wether southerner or northerner. Some of u just like deceiving yourselves.... When Jonathan contest against buhari where was so called south?.... Igbo, Ijaw, Efik or Ibiobio man don't even see Tinubu as his brother... The name APC alone is enough to spoil everything... Am sure that Atiku will beat Tinubu in South-South/South-East if both of them are to contest.... The only people now to determine are Core North/Middle belt of which I doubt that Tinubu will win major votes there like Buhari did. Forget all those Tinubu online supporters making noise.... Some politicians up north won't support or work with tinubu as they did for Buhari. |
