Nicoswit: News are not exaggerated o. Nigeria is in mess bro. We live in the city but we can't travel without fear. Many Nigerians have abandoned road trips. People in the villages kidnapped and raped almost on daily bases. Then the high ways are extremely dangerous. Bro, make we no lie. Nigeria is messed up security wise. 1 Like |

obama30: I think it is clownish of you to bash Ghana as a Nigerian, as a South African or Namibian? You can bash but not when you are a citizen of the world's poverty capital and home to at least 2 out of 5 top terrorist groups in the world. Have some shame. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Gerrard59:I think you have to re-read what he wrote. He was simply advising a fellow brother but those two guys pounce on him and start rubbishing Nigeria name. Just because things aren't good here doesn't equate to one being an idiot. No sane citizen will watch his country being bashed like that and kept quiet. Being the poverty capital of the world now doesn't mean it will be so forever. Our father, our brothers all made a grave mistake and if care is not taken same thing will be applicable to us. Like what I usually tell anyone whoever care to listen "2023 is this generation youth (Those born in the 90's to mid 2000) to correct our mistakes. A little stretch again will be dangerous to us rising |

Gobengroup: First bold, he bashed Ghana in the process of advising the OP not to relocate there. As a Nigerian, he's not qualified to do so. You can advise someone not to relocate to Ghana without bashing it. tensazangetsu20: How come the Ghanaians didn't attack the abovementioned post(er)? And yes, as a Nigerian, he has no right to bash Ghana. Maybe Somalia but not Ghana, these are facts and they don't care about your feelings. Second bold, Nigeria is bound to be poorer in the future. The stats say so considering population growth and consistently anaemic GDP growth figures. Again, these are facts and they don't care about your feelings. I don't have any business with whatever generation that will fight for Nigeria. Those are their personal problems not mine. 4 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Is Accra, Ghana Okay For Someone Not Looking For Job? by Gobengroup(m): 8:48pm On Apr 09, 2021 |
Gerrard59:You took it wrong. He was simply advising a fellow not bashing. So according to your logic he could bash a Somalian but not Ghanaian just because you think they are ahead right? I love your threads but the fact will still that every nation out there once had a point in time that their decisions will determine the prosperity of it coming generation. I believe things will get better but that will start only if we can learn to make the right choices. Many may not see things from my angle but I want our youth to know this "Our choice in next presidential election will set the pace for the next generation". |
Re: Is Accra, Ghana Okay For Someone Not Looking For Job? by Gerrard59(m): 1:32pm On Apr 10, 2021 |
Gobengroup: Nothing wrong with advising someone but don't bash another country that's way ahead of yours, it's a shameful act. So, a Nigerian can bash Switzerland or South Korea? The person no get shame? Even the Somalia sef shouldn't be bashed considering that Somalia is a hell-hole earlier than I was born let alone Ghana where Nigerians are fleeing to instead of the other way round. A German has the moral right to criticise or bash Japan but a Nigerian shouldn't criticise Germany or Japan. Until Nigeria gets to the level of development in both countries, Nigerians should be ashamed when criticising certain countries. To your last statement, well, they already did so in 2015 - one step forward, five steps backward. Anyone they vote (maybe Tinubu or elrufai) in 2023 is their personal problem not mine. 3 Likes 1 Share |

The fellow denigrated Ghana while supposedly “advising” his fellow Nigerians about not going to Ghana. What I have noticed about Nigerians is their outright hypocrisy. You didn’t notice when the fellow laughed out in a deliberate attempt to rubbish Ghana, right? But you only noticed it when Nigeria was being bashed, right? Go back to the thread and read what prompted the backlash. Gobengroup: |

See how some f00lish donkeys just scattered this beautiful thread. Arguing about what doesn't have head and tail. I don't know when grown men became women, arguing like sissies. If you don't any advice to give to the op, kindly pack yourselves to one thread and continue your baseless argument there. |

ugom123: Ghana isn't bad for a start. As long as you mind your business and stay off Nigerians causing trouble there, you'd be fine. The plan should be to move to Ghana as a means of getting clarity for your next move. Rent is usually paid monthly, so you can't be tied down. I advise that you make the move once the borders are open. If it doesn't work out, you can always come back to Nigeria or move elsewhere. 1 Like |

Most of these security issue in nigeria we only watch them on TV just like other countries do. if we were to break off from the north, would you say ghana is better than Southern Nigeria? In another comment someone was advising op to move to ivory coast. smh can you imagine? |

Re: Is Accra, Ghana Okay For Someone Not Looking For Job? by Gobengroup(m): 9:01am On Apr 12, 2021 |
MrSamsung:My use of "our choice" there reiterate the right choice. I can't speak for a whole country or order them to vote for a particular person but voting the right choice in our next presidential election is crucial or we risk passing the mantle to the next who will also go through our current dilemmas. I don't bash countries or it citizens, I'm responding to a fellow who I think have a critical view of this nation. |
Re: Is Accra, Ghana Okay For Someone Not Looking For Job? by Gobengroup(m): 9:15am On Apr 12, 2021 |
Gerrard59:I agree with all your philosophy except the part "Ghanaian can bash Somalia" and you logically telling me a Ghanaian can bash a Nigerian just because your sole mind think they're ahead. I already know Tinubu or elrufai can be a disaster that will lead this country to further ruin hence my use of "our choice". We either make the right one or risk a further national decline. 1 Like |

Gobengroup: I made the thread.. The guy whom u said was advising me was actually bashing Ghana which made no sense. Sincerely, we are difficult people as Nigerians. He was so angry at Ghana and I don't know why. I am also never going to side with Nigeria anytime becus Nigeria is completely a useless country. Spent some heavy cash installing solar inverter system just to beat ugly poor power supply. Anyone defending Nigeria is sick. The person is simply support these useless leaders. Nigerians are scattered all over the world becus they are running away from their land. I think that aside war thorn countries, Nigerians are among the highest number of people who run away from their country. It is ugly truth. And as he said, we don't have right to bash Ghana when we are actually terrible as a country with almost nothing working. There is no govt institution that is working normally here. None. Everything is upside down. Wait until u need health attention in Nigeria, that is when u will understand how deep of sheet we are into |

I'm Ghanaian. Op come to Accra/Ghana and survey the environment first. You'd love it here. Your questions on security, health, kids school etc would all be answered. There's also a growing, vibrant body of tech/fintech people, animators here you can liaise with. There're foreigners from all over the world here you can mingle and "rub minds" with. There's a certain Nigerian chef Sallie who're here to establish an eatery, you can follow them on YouTube. There're lots of Ghana-based Nigerian YouTubers Tiffany Eweka, Kenneth Nwache (KNT), etc that you can make enquiries from. Accra has lots of beaches, restaurants, leisure spots, top quality malls, quality schools, etc to make your stay enjoyable. |

ugom123: Visited Accra last year while processing some business registrations, i stayed for about 60days. Coming from Nigeria, accra is expensive ,responding along the boldened above Accra is secure ,maybe little pick pockets at some locations and parks, but not entirely safe. The education,if you want facts check the current world or african ranking of universities, some Nigerian universities are better than Ghanian and vice versa, UI,Covenant, knust, Uni Ghana, etc the rankings will tell the story and guide you. Light is not 90% stable, neither is water, some people have bore holes and others generators, but generally ghanians are not as crazy about light as we are ,because they get it more constantly than us.. it could go out for 3hours more or less, after a supply of about 70% Ghana is too hot, hotter than Nigeria, if u re going to stay permanently take note, u will need a/c and stay away from the sun Most importantly please note that house rent in ghana is unecesserily expensive, the landlords take btw 700 -2000 ghc per month, 1 year minimum for unfurnished apartments. For furnished apartments you pay daily,or monthly ,and usually very expensive as high as 2000cedis per week i.e about 350USD for reasonably priced ones. The roads are coal tarred on the major roads only, most other roads leading to houses are covered in red soil. Central accra is more structured with more amenities and best roads but very expensive. Other surroundings like east, north legon, achimota, tema are cheaper than accra but you will not get a good 2 bedroom apartment with 500k per annum I would recommend you seek another country that can offer you low cost of living yet standard. But there's no place like home, the Nigeria we have is much better than the Nigeria we are portraying on social media. The security situation is the major problem. Asides that, corruption nepotism, favoritism, do exist in many African countries,. 3 Likes |
