Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the President of Dangote Group, has stated that for Nigeria’s economy to survive, there needs to be an increase in Value Added Taxes (VAT), and the Federal Government should consider charging the right prices on petroleum products.

Speaking with stakeholders in Abuja, Dangote who again emerged as the richest man in Africa, further said tax payment cannot not be taken seriously as far as the economy survival is concerned.

It doesn't take a Bachelor's in Economics to infer that he means extortive prices. He's all about milking the people without scruples.

His refinery is going up fiercely, and it could as well be the reason why all the sudden interest in the VAT shoot-up for PET products bickered.

I'm afraid he's aiming to take a constricting monopolistic grip on oil products. Just as John Rockefeller, he's a certified business crook who wants to remain atop by all means.

Dangote is really turning out to be a problem as speculated in some quarters. VAT has been increased multiple times by this junta alone, how high must it be increased again for him to be satisfied considering the fact the purchasing power of the ordinary Nigerian has been vastly diminished ? Opening up the economy and implementing progressive policies instead of flip flopping is the way to go, Nigerians are already too poor as it stands now due to governments ineptitude

So Dangote is the new economic expert/special adviser.

I don't blame him, if everyone have the kind of money he has who will complain?

It's up to Nigerians, especially the youths to decide if they will come together and take their destiny in their hands, or will they continue with petty tribal divisions and insults 'Afonja this, Ipob that...' while the elite continue to milk them dry
