When Oyiigbo was ceded to Rivers state there was no Abia state. Oyigbo was in Imo state then and known as Obiigbo. And Imo state contested the decision to cede Obiigbo to Rivers state, the case pronouncement by Supreme court is in internet, google it.
Ndiigbo would never have rejected Obiigbo. The Asa and Ndoki people were never OSU. I doubt you know the meaning of Osu. Majority of ASA and NDOKI people are in Abia state.

You were right that Obiigbo was added to Rivers state as a continuation of Nigerian post civil war economic strangulation on the South East, Obiigbo was oil rich and could have contributed to the financed of South East, which the leaders of *One Nigeria* never wanted just as they implemented the 20 pound policy.
The Rivers people knew that Obiigbo should rightly be in Igboland yet greedily went to court to contest for it against Imo state knowing that the FG controlled Supreme court would rule in their favour.
