This will be a bit lengthy because it was a long but a terrible experience for me.

Okay, sometime last 2 years, we got jobs to be done in different locations in different states.
So, we started with the one in Lagos, after which we left for jos. My colleague left for jos before me so he can make arrangements for the materials to be used in frame making and also start work before I come, as he will do his part before I can start my own work.

It was after 3or 4 days before I left for jos. My first time going to any Northern states aside from Abuja. Jos was nice, things were much cheap including transportation. We lodged in a hotel somewhere at Rukuba road, but we work just opposite the university of jos. Men, I was shocked when I got inside the hotel and there wasn't even fan, I wasn't buying the idea. The manager assured me that I will see reasons. It was just around 4pm and everwhere was already freezing. Oh now I know while jos people don't use even ceiling fan. grin

So, the next next day my colleague was done with his own job and is ready to move down to Port Harcourt, just another location. Men, so I will be alone here in far away jos? God dey.

I hurriedly did my part and was about setting out for port Harcourt after 4 days in jos before a call came in, that I should wait behind to do the signage work on the construction. Aft3much persuasion and pleading(because it wasn't part of my job. But because he wants to save costs of sending someone else from lag to do the job), i agreed to stay for more two days so I can do the job(my worst mistake ever) .

The needed materials was coming from Lagos. He assured me that he had sent the materials through a transport company{bus}. First day gone, second day, 3rd and 4th still no material in sight. The excuses I kept getting was that the motor spoit, the this, the that. Not knowing that the man never sent anything. I was already frustrated, as all I do was wake up, watch film, go to bar drink and go back to my room. Did I tell you that I was already paying for hotel fee and feeding with my money?

It was on that fourt day (Friday) that I made up my mind to leave jos for Lagos on Saturday, if the material doesn't arrive. Later in the evening I got a call that the material has now been sent via flight. So the next day, I got the material in the evening. On Sunday morning, I did my job and hurriedly went back to arrange my bag for me to leave jos. It was then i discovered that my bag won't contain the remaining materials.

As I was coming downstairs, I started hearing gun shots. I didn't know if was to run inside or go out of the building and run away. I managed to approach the hotel manager. He said I shouldn't bother myself because that how the police do come to the next compound with an abandoned building in search of a particular wanted criminal(I can't recall his name).

The managers words gave me the courage to go out and get a sack that i Will pack my extra loads with. To my surprise, I passed the men of NPF, SCID, and other security men. They were jumping from the hotel compound into the next compound, shooting inside the building there. As I walk down to the entrance gate, a man approached me me and asked where the police man were, I show him and he joined them. So I left to get the sack

To my shock, On my coming back, everyone in the hotel has been brought outside and were lying down. I withdrew back instantly. Tried to video them but I had a second thought of them capturing me. So I crossed to the other side of the road and stayed far away. After they packed them all in their three vehicles leaving only few people, they shot sporadically into the air as they drove off.

I came out and saw same man that I showed where the policemen were, he told me that someone's Toyota camry was snatched snatched during the night and the suspect ran into the hotel. I told him that looking at what played out, the NPF knew who they were searching for and where he was supposed to be, else they would have come directly to the hotel. Instead of the compound they went to.

I said well, thank God for this sack, I would have been among them too grin grin He asked why I said so. O told him that I have been in that hotel for more than seven days, but I just left to buy this saack to pack my stuff before this whole mess started............

.... so, the unknown man asked me where I was heading to now. I told him that I was going back to Lagos today as I had finished my work in jos, even though I was going to port Harcourt. He looked me for some seconds and volunteered to take me to the park as he pointed to his Suzuki bike. I didn't give it a second thought and agreed.

Something strange happened immediately, the happiness with which this man used in bringing out his motorcycle made me to start reading meanings to everything that has happened.

Did I tell you that he narrated to me how the police men already tagged me the main suspect, after they learnt that the person in that room was the only one who spend night in the hotel. Others would come and leave when night falls. The manager told them all that when they requested for manifest. According to the bar man, the manager also told them that I was going to work as I only come back in the night. But the police men decided what they decided.

So as he brought out his Okada and asked me to get my luggage so we can leave for the park, many thoughts came to my mind, I don't know this man, I don't know road, I don't hear hausa neither can I speak. WHAT IF, he takes me to the police station or any other place, how would I know and what would I do? It was then that I looked carefully and discovered that baba was a policeman but not on uniform. grin grin grin grin. Chai.

As a Lagosian, I just used my small phone to call the big one. I started shouting at nobody on phone; why aren't you here yet, see how someone could have taken us to the park now, yet you are still bathing by now. I dropped the fake call.

Them turned to the now policeman. Oga, my second is not yet ready and I don't know anywhere here, neither does he. So I need to wait for him to come so we go the park together. He tried to convince me why I should direct him on how to come to the park instead, but I insisted on staying back.

It was then that he said okay, so you will be staying back in the hotel while waiting for him? I replied him 'yes sir'. Thank you for offering to help. He said no problem, told me his name and I told me a name too grin. That was when he confirmed to be a policeman. I shook hands with with him, confidently.

He zoomed off with his motorcycle as I rushed to get my bag and entered Keke. I told the rider not to bother about getting more passengers that I will pay for the seats.

My people, we didn't go up to 4 poles when police van passed us. I thanked my God in my mind because, I knew it was them. Some minutes later, the girl that server in the hotel called me that the police men are back here in search of me. I said, no problems they should wait that I'm coming. I told the Keke man to move fast to the park. Just as we entered there, I sighted the NPF Hilux van already searching the luxurious bus loading to Lagos. I told the aboki man to reverse immediately and drive to another way. Moved down and dropped to enter taxi. I told the taxi man to take me to where I can get Abuja bus. So I followed Abuja and took another bus to pH.

As if that was not enough, they snatched my phone at iweka road, onitcha. Android phone that I just got few months ago then. I took it that God used that to save my head.

Nairalanders, Help me praise the lord.

Even though 95% of you won't read it grin grin grin grin

Surprisingly, Mr Amos Chinonye didn't pay me for the said job that I almost lost my life for. Not even the expenses for the extra days I spent while waiting for the material. And the extra job.

You know you can't go free after what you did. My God is paying you back for you what you did. Trust me.

Happened last two years bro.

What I love most about jos is the availability of quality food stuff at a cheap rate too

All through my days in jos, I never saw where stew rice was made with tin tomatoes. Fresh tomatoes full everywhere.
