Old Anambra has her capital in Enugu and created in 1976.

So Enugu in right sense was created in 1976.

This comparison might not be adequate due to the different factors affecting the different states.
States were created for political reasons without considering the economic viability of the states created or the one whom they were created from.
Eg, Osun from Oyo, what is the viability of Osun to have been created from Oyo? Ekiti from Ondo? Cross River away from Akwa Ibom, and so many others.
North is even worse, the creation was basically on land mass and population, no other consideration.

Ogun is doing to Lagos what Niger should be doing with Abuja.

The Niger matter tire me. It seems alone Nasarawa is leveraging on it's proximity to Abuja.

Karu LGA (the LGA in Nasarawa sharing boundary with Abuja) generates the highest revenue for the state through taxes.

Keffi LGA is a student town with 2 higher instutions and enjoys a huge influx of students coming in from Abuja.

Then there is Lafia, the State capital.

Alot of Nigerian states have all the potential necessary to be a viable, influential and sustainable but are flopping badly. While others are performing against all odds considering the allocation available to them.


Some states were created before others and as such have been enjoying direct Federal Government allocation longer than others. So comparing your state against its peers (states that were created the same time with it) is what will give you a more genuine outlook as to how your state have faired over the years

It's not right for a state that was created in 1976 to make comparisons with a state created in 1996.
