Don2011:

you are kidding right? in this day and age you can still write this? Buari on BBC, do the hoodlums supporting him even have access to BBC? What reasonable Nigerians like myself are saying is that he should come out live and address his supporters and ask them to cease killing innocent victims. he should assure them that he will fight the results through the law courts (he should appeal to their conscience), That’s what makes sense - they hear him directly not through BBC whose reach is very minimal to say the lease. I'm sorry if i come across as rude but i believe if you have family members at risk in the north, you wouldn’t come to this forum to tell us all is dandy and his interview with BBC is sufficient.

My GUY 50% of Hausa/Fulani have accessed to the BBC Hausa service. And you can see them going about with their world receiver radio. undecided undecided

Good.

We need to plan for the next election, it's also very important.

The turn out during last election was very low. We need to go out en masse to vote during next election.

Vote Dele Belgore (ACN) as Kwara State governor.

I hope people will reference this thread after 4years,

Sun of god is not only psychic but an ardent follower of the politics of Nigeria. The tenure is predictably black. GEJ is not the CHANGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if Buhari actually called his goons to order then it is safe to assume he incited them to violence in the first place. what is the problem with these pple? they think it is their birthright to rule, isnt it? they have the lowest cut-off marks in common entrance, jamb, waec, etc. and that's not enuf? they hold the juiciest public offices in the nations ministries and parastatals and how do they repay us? by killing innocent people. i have seen some pictures that make me wonder about the mental state of these northerners. even animals wouldnt do what they did in kaduna. and the CORPERS, those poor kids?! massacred mercilessly. they did not choose to be there, they went to serve their fatherland. NYSC shld be srapped if the govt cannot guarantee the safety of the corpers. or better yet, each one shld serve in their state of origin. what is NANS president doing about this? all naija students shld protest this becos 2mrw, it may be someone u know. angry sad shocked cry

Minna, niger state was real bad yesterday.
I have some scars to show for it.
Lotta people dead and still dying.
Northern Nigeria ain't no place to reside!
Re: The Unrest Is Over - North Pacified by moshoodn(m): 7:55pm On Apr 19, 2011
@gagaworld,
NANS has been reduced to a political body with corrupt leaders. . .
I'm a NANS official and believe me, all we ever do is running bongo packages in Abuja and environs.
Forget NANS and remove it from the peace and enlightenment equation.
NANS is as corrupt as naija herself!

sacking capt. iheanocha is good even if imo gave gej 98% vote. the best is to divide this country into north and south.

it's so sad and very pathetic. At times i wonder. why the killings? Don't they see a fellow human being like a fellow human being or a NAMA? if other people start killing all the Abokis e.t.c we see around i wonder what Nigeria would be. Is it a result of illiteracy, poverty or religion? God help us in this country and save our Brothers who reside in the North. the northerners feel safe n secure in other states Abi?,

As for aloota continua, lets keep our fingers crossed n have a little Faith. wink

Re: The Unrest Is Over - North Pacified by sleekman(m): 8:31pm On Apr 19, 2011
In as much I abhor most of the killings carried out by these people we will classify as 'lunatics' I must say a targeted approach would have been better. Attacking the rigging specialists with a intention of eliminating them would have been proper. God has a way of phasing out waste and in their place bringing up real ideal change agents. Perhaps this is for the best. The governorship is coming up so whoever is coming up must have it in mind he is expendable if he's deemed to be a 'waste'. Making this a tribal or religious issue definitely sent the wrong message to the south. Perhaps their inability to get through to the real cause of their problems caused this.

My Close Friends i have lost, so you all supporting any of the candidate of last election should stop for a second and try to have a sense to reason and also wonder what if this people where your relations.

Good day my fellow Nairaladers for those of you who will see my post as offensive please bear with me, Tomi is the first son and the only male child of his family with 2 other little siblings looking up to him , his parents are uneducated. they struggled to put Tomi through school to become a graduate, despite all our economic odds. only to be killed by the Nigeria's Government insensitivity towards security reports, A government that provides nothing but take the lives of our love one all in the name of Religious violence and ethnic violence which can be curtail if our security operatives are adequately funded. As of this morning with out exaggeration we have lost more than 12 corpers here in bauchi i don't know of other northern state. All this is in their bid to get into power our loves ones has been sacrificed when all their children are abroad schooling. they proclaim a peaceful election when we are in tears here in the north for our brothers and sisters that have been killed in a violence that can be avoided if only security report were taken seriously. From the bombings going ever since before the election and the one that took place the night before election it is enough to put all security agency on alert but i guess that is not a problem to them after all they have been declared the winner so all security personnels can go back to their various position. On the other hand the losers did not behave themselves as through statesmen, the three of the big losers are from the north so no body should peg it on buhari alone they ought to come out and give a statement to their illiterate youth they keep deceiving all in the name of religion and zoning. Do our youth have to die all our top citizens, They made no provision for our protection and safety, it is no surprise that they do not care about us dead or alive.

So you all supporting GEJ or Buhari stop and ask your self if your child, sister, brother or friend was among the victims we are seeing here would you be in support of any of the 2 or clamour for all graduate to serve in their own state since our life can not be protected by our government.

Attched is the picture Tomisin Teidy who used to serve with me here in bauchi until yesterday, he graduated from Unilorin studied computer science the girl name is Lami from Auchi she is serving in Kebbi state.

The riots are over. The unrest is over. The almajiris have gone home. Buhari has condemned their actions and called for them to stop. Troops have regained control of the streets. May the souls of those who lost their lives see eternal joy.

Now, it's time for GEJ to get on with the task of governance.

Thanks Nigerians.

So no body should be brought to book very funny how we react to situations in this country why do we allow sentiment to cloud reality. If we allow this issue like the rest that have been swept under the carpet to just go like that then we should prepare for the big one some day.

@elibika am sorry about your friends, God will in his infinity mercy give their families the heart to bear this huge loss. I also have a sister serving in niger state but acording to her, their area is peaceful. I hope that the people responsible for this wicked act wil be brought to book

So, So sad. These were young people so full of life, who needlessly and callously cut down in their prime while on service to their country. Some official (Government, Religious or Traditional) will offer a casual ‘sorry‘ to the families and then all will be forgotten. No body stops to think about the scars that the families will bear for life. The whole nonsense of NYSC should be scraped!! and I have always advocated legalising arms in this country after all in Nigeria the citizens have learnt to provide their own electricity privately, they dig their private bore holes, go to private hospitals, attend private school, etc why restrict them from privately securing them selves? If these poor souls were armed they would not have been soft target

the way this aboki do their things is unbelievable, if u are not a muslim like them, they think u are nobody.the problem u are seeing today is purely religions. if it was ACN that won that election there would have been no prob, since GEJ is a christian thats the prob. what has church got to do with politics that they are burning churches?have we ever burn a mosque in the east?

so sad elikiba, this is what we face here in the north, from the hands of those we call our fellow brothers, i pray u finish ur service and go back safely,if  i should show you some pictures of dilimi crisis in jos where humans were killed and burnt, u will not spend a night close to these people, i have spent years in north and have seen alot,we are indeed not one.be carefull were u go and when this is life in the north for u. we live among vampires

Re: The Unrest Is Over - North Pacified by Abali1(m): 11:21pm On Apr 19, 2011
@Elikiba, am deeply sorry about your friends. Bauchi is a well known state for religious riots. My advice to you and other corp members still in that state is to leave the state immediately a semblance of normalcy returns to the North.

Nigerians please learn to take your destiny in your hands. Govt is not ready to protect you, I was actually wondering why the Govt will place the corp members in such a precarious situation (that is, using them in election proceedings when they know fully well they are not going to provide security for them).

Corp members are easy targets in the North and other part of the country. I was actually a victim of violence in the said Bauchi state (that is a talk for another day).

I still maintain my stance on the issue of NYSC, either the scheme is scrapped or graduates should be allowed to serve in their respective states. Parents spend a lot of money training their children in school, only for some idiots to waste their lives all in the name of serving their FATHER LAND. It is not as if the govt is doing anything to improve the unemployment situation in the country.
Re: The Unrest Is Over - North Pacified by lastpage: 12:11am On Apr 20, 2011
The question we should ask the likes of Abagworo and his kins, is: What manner of people will kill a YOUTH CORPER, who is serving his fatherland?
FOR WHAT?
ON WHOSE BEHALF? Buhari and Jonathan are one side each, of the same coin,,,,The same Bourgeoisie class of rulers!

If the election was rigged, is the Youth Corper the "rigger" or beneficiary?

Even lets assume you are so blood-thirsty, why not go after JEGA or the PDP chairman or even Jonathan himself?
Why not go after some very VIP?
Why kill an innocent Youth Corper?
What is the gain in doing this madness? and its not the first time nor will it be the last!

I m beyond grief!

Lets reflect on the parents and family members of these two innocent souls: Lets leave Politics out of these for a moment!
Imagine the "waste" that their investments have been laid to?
Imagine the pain of training a daughter and a son through University and then to be killed by one "bloody b*stard" whose parents bore and threw him to the dogs?

How come its always Southerners that bear the brunt of this senselessness?

I live in a part of Lagos where there are loads of Northerners and we are friends. One of them even knitted a native Hausa cap for my son!
We made them very comfortable and welcomed. We dont discriminate against them and will fight on their behalf, if we see them being mishandled.

In the midst of this, l printed the Corper's picture and showed it to "Alhaji" (as we call the Hausa leader) and told him what happened.
I asked him if he thinks we in this street, can do this to them, here in Lagos?

He shook his head "NO" and shed tears! He said "wan-na aske nii"! He then translated for me: These (killers) are dogs!

I still think the Hausas have a long way to go and a lot to learn, in "human relations and cohabiting", especially the ones that have never left their little corner of the country. No offense.

I wont heap the blame on Jonathan BUT l will expect that when "he is grounded in power", he will set-up aninvestigation into th ekilling of these Corpers, especially. Its like killing a member of the armed forces or a U.N force member; the "Corpers" represent the nation and must be protected.

The dead have no use for prayers, but l pray that God will bring succor to the lives of the parents of these young ones.
The pain would last for a life-time and would probably end the life of some of their parents.
I am a parent too and knows how it feels.

Disgusting.

I call on all Human Right Activist,NANS,SAVE NIGERIA GROUP-whatever  happened to them, they just went underground- They should take up these cases our eyes are now open
PLEASE N.Y.S.C SHOULD BE SCRAPPED- OR SERVE YOUR FATHER LAND IN A 'BROTHER REGION'.
How many innocent souls, great future leaders that never would be,most of them were sponsored by parents who have never worked in government parasatals-where you go to sign register then leave for the rest of the day, parents who toiled and went on hungry so they could train these kids, not even government trust funds were used to train them.
Tell me why they should pay back with their blood.
Re: The Unrest Is Over - North Pacified by phreakabit(m): 1:23am On Apr 20, 2011
Cant express the level of rage that engulfed me after reading that post and seeing both those corpers, I actually paused for a minute to reflect deeply on the situation and imagine the level of pain and anguish members of their families must feel right now! They where on the verge of getting started in life! They spent their entire life studying to be something great for themselves, their families and penultimately this Nation! Only for some bastards to rob them of their deserved glory, " even while serving the Nation"! Only God knows how many unaccounted killed corpers we are yet to hear of. BUHARI FOR INCITING THE VIOLENCE THAT LEAD TO ALL THIS, YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW PEACE! The blood of the innocent will definitely speak against you. ANIMAL!
