By Segun Showunmi, Ibadan

A real estate agent in Ibadan, Oyo State, Alhaji Waheed Adetunji, has said the recent police invitation to Chief Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a. Sunday Igboho was meant to question him over his involvement in alleged criminal acts, not because of his agitation for Yoruba nation.

Adetunji, a complainant, provided some documents to reporters, which he said are evidence of his allegations against Ighoho.

He berated the police in Oyo State for allegedly shielding him (Igboho) from arrest and prosecution.

The spokesman for Igboho, Olayomi Kioki, had said that the Inspector General of Police sent a letter to his boss for an invitation, which he refused to collect, alleging that it might be a letter bomb.

Ighoho’s spokesman gave an impression that the Yoruba ‘activist’ has become a target of the state because of his involvement in a secession agenda.

A statement by Adetunji, the complainant, said: “We have used every means to get Ighoho arrested over illegal acquisition of a landed property at Idi-Mango village road, Soka area, on Lagos/Ibadan expressway, in Ibadan, but his strong connection with the police in Oyo State is frustrating efforts to get him arrested.

“However, after many failed attempts to arrest lghoho in Ibadan, we sought assistance of the police from the police headquarters in Abuja and they contacted Alagbon Police Station in Lagos to intervene.

“This has led to the prompt arrest of some of Ighoho’s boys and lawyer, but Igboho has been hiding under activism for the emancipation of the Yoruba race as an independent nation right to shield himself from lawful police invitation and prosecution.”

Why the Waheed Olatunji of a man can not go to court rather than getting him arrested
I am sure they just want to use him to get Igoho arrested

What nonsense is this you are saying? Is he supposed to keep quiet over Igboho's criminal activity because he is forming Oduduwa activist? Such blackmail should not be allowed to stand. You people are supporting criminality based on sentiments.

Just imagine if this news was Nnamdi Kanu defrauding people on a real estate deal, afonja media will be all over it like human skull and afonjas will be in all threads insulting him. But you will not see any Igbo or Biafra on this news. A testament that Afonjas are the troublemakers between these two.

This was same way the people of North east were shielding Mohammed Yusuf ,and his deputy Shekau in the early days of their atrocities.

Look at where they are now. I support Ighoho on his stand against the fulanis, and his agitation of the Yoruba nation. I stand to condemn any plot to get him arrested base on any of the above position.

But not on criminal matters as this, Ighoho cannot be fighting the fulanis for their land grabbing and expansionist agenda against his people, while back home he does same using his connection and power.

Ighoho and his boys should be arrested and tamed.

You’re wasting your time thinking stoping igboho will stop the actualization of Yoruba Nation.

Keep trying to petition him, so long as the law you are trying to use is the 1999 constitution it can never hold on him because the Yoruba people are not under that’s law. So you and your police can go to hell

These people no wise....them sha wan use something hit this guy......let the IG know that he'd be putting the lives of fulani at risk in ibadan and environs if anything happens to Igboho......ibadan people don't speak grammar or give speeches like some omo ales in lagos, let buhari's boys be guided, tinubu should call his BMC boys to other so that the small support he has in the south west won't be totally put out.
