The VC is a criminal, he was diverting my salary
I don't have time to negotiate with them.
I want court or I will leave it
What I'm asking is whether I can get compensation from the court

Rutherford2019:
I was suspended from my job by a federal university along with 820 others in 2017.
Since then I have been receiving credit alerts from my pension fund administrator...meaning that my salary is being paid monthly since 2017 till date.
I was recalled in February this year but I don't want to go back to the job again.
Should I go to court to reclaimed my salary and for damages? What is the possibility of me winning the case against the university?
Note..there is no case or fraud against me, I have my appointment letters, suspension letter and statement of account from my PFA.

Since you were suspended not sacked, you ought to be getting your salary as and when due because your job is backed by statutory flavour. So you have a very good case against the school.

The first option is to resume, claim your arrears and resign.

But if you have secured a better source of income, then you can simply engage a lawyer to sort it out for you.

Don't rush to court. Rushing to court without complying with the relevant provisions of the Statute establishing the institution could see your case being thrown out for want of jurisdiction.

This is what I call technical justice. If this does not happen, the school can simply bring a notice of preliminary objection and bleed you out.

Last year, a client had similar issues with a Federal University of Agriculture. We were able to resolve the issue at a round table discussion without the need for court. He is even a member of this noble forum.
So ensure you engage a smart lawyer. If the lawyer knows his/her onions, the case can be resolved amicably without the need for National Industrial Court.

Litigation is expensive and the school has a deep pocket. So a bleed out strategy is easy for them, especially if a high ranking officer has been diverting your funds. He/she will do everything possible to kill the case.

Good luck

What is the case here?

All the while you were receiving free salary you didn't complain neither did they. Now they called you back, you want to litigate the matter. For what exactly? To let you continue receiving pay without working or what? I don't really get.

If you don't want the job again, tell them. Simple.

You see why I've been clamouring for our higher institution to create COMPREHENSION a separate course entirely. Obviously you did not understand OP post at all.

Get a lawyer, also get a former colleague who's loyal to you and carry out some underground check. You will surely WIN

Ain't you tired of the epileptic power situation in your area? Why are you so comfortable buying fuel daily and servicing your generator weekly? How do you feel going out at 1am to put off your generator? Is your conscience not pricking you each time your generator pollution affects your estate? If you can read this then you're lucky. You need a SOLAR POWER SYSTEM TODAY

Why not make it clear then? Abeg shift.

He claimed he's been getting credit alert. Can you get alert and not have the money credited into your account? where the twist in the story is. So what are you talking about comprehension?

The issue here is that I am no longer available for the job. In February last year, I received a three month salary after I registered in IPPIS with my name and employment number. I did the registration without the university knowing but I learned that the university went to Abuja to stop my salary payments.
My enquiry is whether I would be able to get some compensation from court because I am no longer available for the job

You collected a salary which you did not work for for 3 months.

What do we call you?

Moreover your story get K-leg.

in order to give an informed legal opinion more facts will be required. requisition will be raised as to
1 What nature of offence you were suspended for?
2. were you given fair hearing before the suspension?
3. what are the provisions of the employment policy of the university in relation to query, disciplinary committee and suspension?
4. does the employment policy provide for suspension with payment.
you will be entitled to the payment in any of these:
if your suspension is challenged and the court pronounce on it as being unlawful
or not withstanding that you are suspended, the policy make it mandatory for you to be paid.
if none of the above is the case then you can not claim what does not belong to you in the first instance. not only that the court will pronounce that you are not entitled to the salary but also make order that the amount paid as pension during that time be deducted.
Re: Lawyers In The House by Josywhyte: 5:06pm On Apr 15, 2021
Take these evidences and contact a good lawyer to help take this matter to the highest level and you'll see the university come begging.

Note: don't stay too close to the school else, they might send thugs to kill u. Seen such before...

You clearly lack home training. No need to banter words with you.

You know, I don't have anything important to do. it's to come and be wrapping my head around one nairaland post. To prove what exactly?
