Ndokwa Representative To Organize Capacity Building Workshop Next Week by Daudupress: 9:24am On Apr 17, 2021 |
Political leaders, policymakers, lawmakers, LGA Executive Chairmen/Vice Chairmen, Councillors, and the media will gather in Kwale, the headquarters of Ndokwa West LGA from Wednesday 21 to Thursday 22 April 2021 by 9:00 AM, daily for a 2- Day Capacity Building Workshop. The highly anticipated workshop being organized by the Office of the Ndokwa Representative, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ossai Nicholas Ossai, Member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, Delta State will focus on building the learning curve and capacities of the participants in key areas of legislative drafting, legislative agenda development and benchmarking activities; legislative oversight and good governance, legislative representation, and constituency office management, parliamentary administration of legislative councils, ethics and code of conducts and youth engagement/mechanisms for revenue self-reliance. This which was disclosed today 17th April, 2021 in a release signed by the Workshop Secretariat, headed by Amb. Chibuzo Okereke stressed that aside from building the capacities of the participants and their institutions, the workshop will promote integrated representation and formulate strategies that will engender the sustainable development of the Ndokwa nation. It will also address the fundamentals of the role of stakeholders in the governance architecture of the Local Government Councils within the constituency. Etc. The #HonOssaiCapacityBuildingWorkshop for LGA elected officials will be declared open by His Excellency, Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, the Executive Governor, Delta State. It will also feature goodwill messages from distinguished leaders, Honourable Members of the State House of Assembly, LGA Chairmen, etc. Other key features of the workshop include the technical sessions with hands-on distinguished faculty members, focused group problem-solving task session, role plays and simulations, questions and interaction, strategy session, and action points. Participants will also be administered with pre and post-workshop knowledge assessment questionnaires by the Ndokwa Representative’s Constituency Outreach M & E Dept. According to the release, attendance for participants is open to all elected LGA Chairmen, Vice-Chairmen, Councillors, and Legislative Council Clerks in Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency Delta State. Amb. Okereke also stated that the host, Hon. Dr. Ossai Nicholas Ossai, the #NdokwaCapacityBuildingWorkshop is “a platform for Ndokwa elected policymakers at the Local Government level, especially the Councillors to learn, debate, role play, simulate and express ideas, for effective and efficient delivery of the mandate of their offices, while equipping themselves with leadership skills for enhanced performance for the sustainable development of Ndokwa nation.” Stressing on the objectives, he said, the overall objectives of the #NdokwaCapacityBuildingWorkshop is to promote integrated representation for the sustainable development of the constituencies and also to strengthen the capacities of the Councillors to excellently deliver on their mandate of fostering good governance and the stronger delta vision at the grassroots. And for the participants to gain practical knowledge as well as review policy roles through best practices that transform the economic opportunities within the LGAs, said the host.
