Religon has made humans including Nigerians conscious of sin against a certain Higher power beyond just themselves or the state. This is a good thing because I know that if I sleep with my neighbours wife, it would be a sin against God and against the golden rule, but left to the state alone, this isn't always a serious crime. So in this sense, religion has done it's part in controlling the very wayward and some of the most difficult humans have turned a new leaf and have been brought under its' power. So many schools have been built in the name of religon. Religon had brought bible reading to many villages and communities, which was a first step to becoming literate. The missionaries had to teach people to read, so they could read the bible. Church and Mosques have been used for all sorts of evil in themselves, but they are a source of bond, fellowship, and community. Many have developed great skills in churches such as playing instruments, leadership, public speaking, arts, etc. |

BanjiRaymond: Are you not the people who Do and Cause Religion? If you people are not good how then shall your works (religion) be good? Shall a snake give yam? Or A Miser, Garri? |
