Peace be unto you in the name of our Lord Jesus

Wait upon the Lord

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Beloved, there is a race set before you as a believer. You have to run this race in order to obtain the prize and reign in Glory with Jesus Christ in Heaven but the strength to run this race is from the Lord.

In the Lord is everlasting strength, the Lord is never weary neither does He faint. If you decide to run this race with your strength, you will utterly fail, therefore for you to win, you have to depend on the Lord for strength daily.

Know this of a surety; if you will make it a daily lifestyle to wait upon the Lord,
- you will run and not be weary,
- you will walk like Jesus and not faint,
- your strength will be renewed like an eagle.

When other believers around you are complaining that to be a Christian is difficult, to you it is the very opposite because you are not running the race with your strength but His, therefore it is not difficult. All you have to do is WAIT UPON THE LORD. The following are principles you must follow to wait upon the Lord;

- Seek the Lord daily for strength through diligent prayers. Prayer is humility before the Lord and a way of acknowledging that you have no strength to carry through the day and that only Him can see you through the day without you compromising. Therefore, daily kneel before the Lord, acknowledge Him and ask Him to help you to run the race for that day.

- Read, study, memorize and meditate on the Word of GOD. Beloved, there is tendency to be weary and tired but daily reading of and meditation on the Word of GOD will build your faith and strengthen you for each day.
Psalms 119:28 My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.

- Trust in the Lord always. Don't trust in your strength or ability. Isaiah 26:4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength
- Do that which is pleasing in His sight.
- Abstain from all appearance of evil. Sin, worldliness and fleshly lusts are weights that will limit and weaken you. Therefore do not give in to temptation to compromise and sin.
- Be consistent in waiting upon the Lord. Take this journey to Heaven one step at a time. Forget the past, focus on pleasing the Lord each day, don't think about the next day. The most important thing is at the moment: are you upright before GOD? If you are not, repent and continue running the race in Holiness.

1 Samuel 2:9b for by strength shall no man prevail. To prevail and be a victorious christian in this world and make it to Heaven at last, it is by the strength of the Lord GOD, therefore WAIT YE ON THE LORD THY GOD!
