sgtponzihater1: I agree and was extremely puzzled at first as to why Dare made that choice, because it was obvious Dapo was going to be stolen after that accomplished performance. But then I understood why a moment later. If he had sent Dapo to the battles as deserved, He would have had no choice but to send Esther, his best and most promising singer, to the danger zone since he would have already sent 2 people to the battles before Esther performed. He was not willing to risk letting Esther get stolen, so he basically traded Dapo for Esther. Esther had the best blind audition (IMO) with her scintillating performance of "Arise" by Andra Day. Many of the judges decisions are rarely based on the contestants' actual performances but on preconceived notions about how good the contestants were from the blinds which is really a shame. 1 Like |

Everyone performed well last week, except comfort. I don't even know if I'd call that a performance. To say it was cringey was an understatement. My girlfriend only watches the voice Nigeria and I've been telling her a lot about Nigerian idol and how they contestants are impressing me with their performances. I just thank God that she wasn't visiting when comfort performed first. I would have been so embarrassed. Honestly, I don't know what Comfort is doing on the show. The girl has a good voice but she just can't sing at the same level as the other contestants, period I did a snoop of Instagram pages of the remaining 6 contestants and I've made some surprising realizations. Kingdom has the highest number of average Nigerian supporters. Just like in BBNaija seasons, you don't judge number of supporters by likes or followers but by active comments. And kingdom always has the highest comments on his first post after every performance. Francis comes second in terms of fans, but the edge he has over kingdom is that he has a lot of celebrity supporters and influencers like Uti, Johnny Drille, Efe, Somadina to name a few. And they comment actively on his posts. And then considering the fact that he is the only established singer of the 6, the only remaining contestant with a blue tick on his handle and has the strongest connections in the Nigerian music industry. All this factors will be crucial. Surprisingly, Akunna also has a lot of active support from celebrities and social media influencers like Joeboy, Leodasilva, Mclively, Prince BBnaija, Vjadmas etc. Lots of famous people are beginning to take note of her and this will definitely play a big role going forward. Comfort has a horde of sentimental pity supporters. And for someone who loves the show this scares me because I think comfort doesn't deserve to even be on the show at this moment. We've seen pity voters elevate underserved winners like Efe into winners. Hopefully it doesn't happen in Comforts case. The problem with comfort's supporters is that at this point they don't even care about her performances anymore. It doesn't matter if she performs poorly, they will still vote. They are like robots. Faith also has a huge fanbase, and he is second to kingdom in terms of active average Nigerian fans. but despite having flawless performances week in week out, he doesn't have as much active supporters on social media as the 4 above, especially from the demographic of celebrities and influencers, which I'll argue plays a huge role Emmanuel has the least number of active social media fans at the moment, but edge he has over the others is that he looks more like a Nigerian star. I saw girls drooling over his pictures and videos which isn't surprising giving how good looking and outgoing he is. Hopefully this helps him, but I honestly see him going him on Sunday. 4 Likes |

ALEXAPLAYME: They might not vote but they could easily influence their numerous fans and to vote. For example, Tacha fans see Tacha supporting kingdom. All Tacha fans will begin supporting Kingdom. That's how it works. 1 Like |

Re: 2021: Nigerian Idol Season 6 (Live Updates) by Infolenka: 7:23pm On Jun 13, 2021 |
Twoclans: It's just overly sentimental Nigerians with low self esteem and deep insecurity issues. They see themselves in who comfort was and exalt who she has become as a success story or a beam of hope for their pathetic selves. I've met a couple of them in person and I've noticed that most of them lack self confidence and secretly despise people that are more beautiful and more socially accepted than them. 1 Like |
