my dad was a soldier as every other father will want his son to replace him in the field, but my case was differend pupsy vow that non of his son will join the army.i use to wonder why he did a volunterry retirement sometimes a gather the courage to ask him but as usual he wil say nothing.(in the system)at first it was choice, along the line it became a do or die affair.i lost focus after i lost my brother in the field (pte emmanuel ushieje)of blessed memory i have no choice than to go back to mama.

I share similar story. My dad also voluntarily retired and vowed non of his kids would join the army.

He died of medical causes tho. I didnt really ask him in details why he didn't want us to join.

I miss my old man. cry
