this is a good initiative if seen through.
hope the lawyers will be professional in their duty and not become accomplise of police in their dirty job.
let's hope it works as designed so other governors can follow suit.

grin cheesy cheesy

By the time those lawyers mix with those officers, they'll follow join them...

Some neighbors were illegally detained and we went there with a lawyer. The lawyer herself said that bail is not free with police when we mentioned that bail is free grin grin grin

She said even in filing case, they pay from table to table. Even with court officials. Corruption is really endemic

Forget that lie police tell you. There is a particular charge/fee in their police act or whatever for bail, so bail isn't free. Police PROs have confirmed this upon serious interrogation of this 'bail is free' sham

Hahahahahahahahaha....guy you are new to this country.
Just see how they are going to corrupt these lawyers so much that the little respect reserved for lawyers will disappear into thin air.

Arm was sent to mount road block to curb corruption, armed robbery and kidnapping.
Now, what is happening. Army is now collecting egunje. They are joining the criminals to rob and kidnap.

This is a good news. I just hope it won't end up as just a political statement grin

I've been noticing this man since he resume Office, he never make any empty promises like the former governor "SIA". people are saying the man is not trying because he's not the type that make noise with everything. once he says we're ready, just believe him.

free education in all primary and secondary
checked and improved healthcare facilities

EDUCATION AND HEALTH was the first step he took immediately he resume..

Dont get it wrong, not a wrong move from the governor. Our system is just too corrupt for any initiative to thrive.

I strongly hope it yields positive result though.

Charge and bail lawyers that will be on 50k salary. They will just start collecting cut from detention and bail money making bail money to even increase because of more hands to share. Everything will go back to normal

This is a good move and Strategic development to stem the endemic corruption in the police . It is a litmus test on the integrity loyalty and innocence of the so called Nigerian youths. I hope they will not disappoint the expectations of Nigerian nation. They should be support the lawyers to make direct access to the IG and CP to report any acts of police brutality. extortion bribery and corruption .
My fear is that they may easily be oorrupted if they are not supported by necessary legislative backings. We truly need someone to police the police!!!
