Boko Haram insurgents are attacking Mainok, a town about 60km from Maiduguri along Maiduguri Damaturu road.

Mainok is the headquarters of the Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.

The PUNCH gathered that the insurgents are setting houses ablaze and breaking shops in the town.

This is coming after an attack on Geidam town that left many insurgents dead recently.

To be honest, Nnamdi Kanu is a master schemer. How the man has been playing the nigerian govt like fools, needs to be studied. The only advice I have for Kanu is to tone down on his rhetorics. My people remember NK always saying he will draw Nigerian soldiers to Biafra land, and as they are coming they will expose the north to Boko haram attacks and even the soldiers in Biafra land will die, so that Biafra will come. Now, my people are these things not happening? Can't we see the intensity of the attacks of BH has increased recently? Are soldiers not dying in Biafra land?

I've over the years observed the tact of NK, and I've come to the conclusion that the knowledge of that young man is well beyond that of Nigeria and Nigerians. This is the reason I wholly beleive that he's honestly on a mission to restore Biafra, and beleive it or not he will succeed.

Boko knows the Army cannot deploy 1000 men in each and every village in Borno and Yobe...and 10000 men in the towns in the two states, so they attack a town where the Amry has no prescence, raid, and wreck it, make sure it gets into the media...and by extension, sow fear and mockery of the government...with the ultimate aim of promoting dissatisfaction in the secular system...not just bringing down whoever is in Aso Rock, but the whole secular system, then.....in the resulting anarchy , they take over.

That is the way your average terror group works. This attack is designed for propaganda impact. By the time the Army can be deployed, Boko would be gone.
