Dilemma Of A Fresh Graduate by Nobody: 6:50am On May 01, 2021 |
Good morning Nairalanders. Please I'm in a dilemma right now. I'm a fresh graduate and possibility of me going for service this year is very low due to my school slow mobilization. I did alot of hard labour during my days in school (mostly labourer) in other to pay my bills without requesting from my parents. I'm the last born of my parents and ever from my teenage days I always love paying my bills without depending on anyone. I graduated with second class upper from the department of Business administration, not that I'm brilliant, am just an average student who loves giving his best. After rounding up with uni I had to leave 2weeks after in order to represent my elder brothers in my sister's introduction because they said they won't be able to come due to some situations (my regret that I left school too early). I spent all i had saved in school after 2weeks at home doing nothing and I hate staying idle(already used to school suffering and hustling) then I decided to search for job. I finally got one as a sales boy, 12k monthly Monday-Saturday with hard labour. My boss gave me my salary yesterday evening and I almost cried, I felt dejected my zeal for the work reduced to zero. The money added to my depression cause I was expecting him to add to my salary cause have made alot of sacrifices for him, he knows I'm a graduate but he decided not to help. This man do brag of me to his friends how hard working I am (though he has never tell me to my face) and he told them he is scared of losing me. We make sales of nothing less than 1M a day. I was told he paid the guy working with him before 15k with daily feeding of #400 even though he knew the guy was stealing from him till he got fed up and send him away. I don't want to steal his money because I hate stealing (I don't even have the mindset of stealing). Now I have to share NEPA bills with my mom and I will have to drop 5k for feeding out of the 12k and I still have to save so I'll be able to collect my result when my school release it. Deep down of me I want to learn handwork, but how will I survive? I'm 25yrs old. The only thing I'm benefiting from my parents are mental instability, depression, morning and night food, not like the food is okay am just managing it. I'm thinking of quitting the work please advise me |

Good morning Nairalanders.my brother quitting the job with no hope in sight for another job is pretty risky and i won't advise you to do that No doubt it's not been easy for we that came from poor background, we only keep pushing and be hopeful for a better tomorrow Don't steal his money, don't quit the job yet if you don't have any in replacement, don't cut curners to make money Just keep on pushing till when God finally pick your call, by then you can gladly say the storm is over! If i should say my own side of story for you, what I've gone through just to be a better person in life The root cause of our predicament is our background, we are from a poor background Considering the nation we found ourselves, it will take nothing but grace for us to change our family condition for good Let's just be hopeful for a better tomorrow and never succumb to peer pressure It is well! |
