I had this a long time ago and had a surgery to remove my toe nail. Was fine but started again after my toe nail grew back. What I did was to always cut my toe nail short. Use a nail cutter (the one that looks like a clip), when you cut the nail, don't allow it detach till it gets to the end where the sore is, then hold the nail with the cutter and pull down in attempt to cut the nail growing under the skin. Always cut when it grows and continue until the sore stops. Sincerely that was the cure for me.

It is ingrown nail, very painful stuff especially when infected, and quite difficult to heal. Mine was caused by constant wearing of shoes, was given an option of surgical removal or be careful with they type of shoes i wear, and trim the nail properly..
I went with the later option and since then it has not returned..

Yours seems infected, your doctor needs to place you on antibiotics, and also avoid water from touching it so that it dries up and heal properly

It's basically a worm eating their way through your toe at that exact spot

We poured kerosene on the wound and this allow the worm to wiggle around and we get our needles, ready to pluck the basterd out..

This case is different from " jiga " because once you are able to remove the white maggot , that is the end, jiga is cause by pig,the maggot is from pigs, most times you can see it through your skin

Is called ingrowing toe nail. The process of removing it is called Zadik procedure. Even if you dress the wound for 5 yrs it will not heal until you remove the nail inside that flesh. The nail is moving inside your flesh while growing on the lateral and media part of your toe that is the cause

Create a hole in a lime and deep the toe in it.

Suffered same some years again, at a point to the pus smells terribly. I used different antibiotics.
Drink ampicillin becham and always clean with methylated spirit and put the ampicillin poweder directly on the toe.

Kai i totally understand the pain you feel, it's an ingrowing toe nail which would would require surgery. I did the surgery in march for the same thing on my big toe. Do not fret the surgery shouldn't be more than 30 minutes, once you are given an anaesthesia you'll be good to go , you'll be treated faster in a private hospital. I could refer you to the hospital i had mine, after the surgery depending on your body you should be fine after 3 weeks to a month.

Sorry about that. Hope you are getting a solution now.
It is strange that the doctors you met claim not to know about an ingrown toe nail. It is actually a fairly common occurrence.
I strongly advise that you change the doctors. It will usually require a short procedure after they numb your toe.
Also, it is important that they do an histology of whatever they extract, just to be sure there are no further issues.

Thats an ingrown toe nail sir. A part of your mail is growing deep into your flesh. It doesn't just start like that but the start is usually difficult to notice.
I have personally operated twice on my toes on same case. Please see a doctor straight for an operation otherwise some antibiotics can handle the injuries but the healing process will persist. Sorry about that. It can be very painful.

Surgery this surgery that, wow. This my pops doing dipping in hydraulic this evening. He's got one of the hardest toe nails you can think of. Puss and swelling ceased. My lady had same and I took time to trim the nails and had her do this and in less than 4days it was OK. I had lots of toe issues from football undersized boots way back. This is how we heal.

Mine was even releasing pus everyday, I have to spread the skin from the nail and slowing cut the ingrowth nails in the flesh ..
I did it everyday till every of the nail was visibly outside and they flesh dried

Dont try any of these, i tried them for years, that stuff wont heal until u meet a medical doctor for surgery. Just a few minutes operation. U wont feel any pain, under anesthetic. Its ingrown toenail. D side of ur nail has slighlty grown into d flesh. They wil cut off dat part of d nail and pull it frm d root. Zero pain, no stitches. I did it and became free.
If you like dip ur toe inside boiling oil, or sprinkle fuel and light match, no way.

Immediately i saw the picture i knew it was an ingrown toe nail. You need to see a podiatrist but unfortunately I've never heard of one in any hospital in Nigeria

I always HV such problems but the fact of the matter is,it is neither wihtlow or any thing, u ignored the nails and left it for too long that y it became like that... That particular toe nail should always be cut every single time it grows,mostly the side where it affects the most, when u leave it to grow u feel a little bit of pain n then it stops that means d Bail is growing into ur flesh n injuring u,n that wound never heals,cause d problem is prevent d wound from healing... It like piercing your skin with a needle n u expect healing, wen u hvnt taking d needle out, so in your situation u ignored that tiny pain n d nail over grown into ur flesh n d most surprising thing is that d nail is still growing making d wound incapable of healing itself, look for a way to cut the nail out. N make sure u always keep that side of d nail as short as possible

Use diluted acid from a motorcycle to treat it. Pour it on it every morning and night. Exactly this same thing has happened to me, got infected and consumed so much money. Just use it and thank me later.

Please I'll advice you to go to a good hospital for proper treatment. It's obviously an ingrowing toe nail and since you've had it for a year+ my advice is that you get the surgery done. Following all these procedure here especially those telling you to cut the nail yourself may worsen the whole situation. I had it when I was in school, though mine started as a result of a small injury caused by a blade. It wasn't painful per say, but whenever I hit it, blood comes out and it becomes painful. I had a minor surgery on mine, so I'll advice you to get the surgery done. My sister also had it on her both legs after she delivered, hers was even worse than mine. She was booked for surgery but it got healed before the surgery. She used cabad powder. It's sold in the market. It's a black substance like powder. But if it doesn't work just go for surgery

I happen to have lived with this condition for over forty years and have manged it well and have also seen people living with same condition. A class mate of mine had it and went for surgery to remove the flesh that the nails grows into but I manage mine by cut the nails at least once a month.

Do whatever it takes to cut the nails, get surgical blades to do the work. You might get some cuts from the blade which is normal. The wound will never heal as long as the nail keeps pricking the wound but the healing will start as soon the pricking stops.

Do this and you are a free man.

it's not an ingrown toenail. You've got a fungus toenail. You need to see a foot doctor.

It's an ingro nail, I am have experienced it. The pains is so much that I don't know what to compare it with I went to the hospital the doctors don't even what to do, the solution is to remove that part that has grown inside and once you are able to remove it all the pains will vanish.
