Pre-Presidential elections and worse still 1 week Post-Presidential elections, Nairaland Politics section has become a place where Tribalism, Religious bigotism and Sectionalism are freely expressed without let or hindrance, from the way topics are given titles to the posts made by people, to the topics that makes the frontpage, all reeks of such primordial sentiments. I thought all this would stop after elections, but here we are, 1 week after elections and such sentiments are still freely expressed and hardly do u find objective posts, people just speak out of ethnic/religious/sectional bias and hatred. This was how the Hutus-Tutsi civil war in Rwanda started with Hutu media etc calling their Tutsi counterparts cockroaches etc, also in Cote d'Ivoire the civil war there years ago was purely about a North which felt marginalized and the recent Presidential crises that ended up in a bloody confrontation was about Gbagbo( a Southerner) with his Southern allies not wanting to relinquish power to Quattara (a Northener). Note that if civil war breaks out tmrw, nothing would happen to Buhari or GEJ and their families, it is you and I that would be affected. Instead of us seeking how to reunite our nation and work towards harmony we are further watering the seed of discord and enmity. A word is enough for the wise.

Frankly most of those posts are from beaf and some of my South East brothers and aimed at causing disaffection for Northerners.

Shud have listed their names - Beaf,ile-eke idi,Ezeuche,onye ngbu,Rhino.5dm,bluetooth and others.
This group shud be monitored seriously. If they lose their posts every now and then, i think it's likely to change the way they post comments.
It's a pity some people derive some form of enjoyment from this ugly tribal remarks.

@ OP,
I do not think there is anything called bigotism. I strongly believe that you meant bigotry.

@Poster,
My thots exactly, even sadder is d fact dat d Mods and Seun allow this to go on unabated.

At times I wonder if these people really mean what they post or just take comfort in hiding behind their computer screens to type things they know they can't be held accountable for.

I shudder to think that our future leaders are among the lot.

God help us!!
