Ngige and Keyamo have no time for that. Keyamo is busy throwing punches with Eedris Abdulkareem while Ngige is busy looking for how to sabotage doctors. You see Ngige, Onyeama, and Ogah, those 3 are the most incompetent Ministers, especially that Onyeama. 5 Likes |

I think we need to do Israel style, spy on every nation outside of America, maybe a few in Europe, and African countries. No country made it by themselves without tech stealing, Greeks did it, England did it, America did it, and the Chinese are doing it. If we can put our troubles aside and work on unity, we will be manufacturing a lot of things. That 18k will buy you a lot; am not saying people should be paid 18k, am just saying - if you have the logistics and the manufacturing, your 18k will go far. For now, it can't do much because everything is imported. Reps and states need to come up with clear business laws for a start. We are just so backwards in everything that is vital. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Why not put an end to their lives? If they kill Nigerians in their own country, should they also not be killed. Judicial or extra-judicial. There are stories, many. Until we accept that this is the work to be done, all na talk . . . |

adebayo201:True. Walked in on our MD, telling our Chairman 'increment in salary? What for? What have they done to merit it?' With a stupid grin on his face He had 2 official cars, a house from the company whereas, his staff were underpaid with no changes for years. He finally shot himself in the leg. There was one female attachment hair manufacturing company I worked with some years ago.The driver and a staff who accompanied him to distribute goods to the east were robbed and killed before they got to the east. The Chinese company paid the staff family #100k each as compensation. We all went on strike and demanded the company to increase the deceased compensation to #500k and to also increased our salary.A casual worker was paid #10k.Could you believe the NLC was invited to pressed on the Chinese to addressed our plight. After they went into the office of the Chinese men, they came back and told us to resume work without addressing the situation on ground. Most of us had to leave the company. 7 Likes |

There is a man in igbesa called Obanla, I heard he's the one collecting percentage from people's salaries, you don't get employment unless you go though his agent back in 2016 to 18 that I was there. In 2018 viju milk pays 15k as salaries. The Ogun Guangdong company is even worse, 7 to 7 hard work Chinese man will be treating you like animal... Vulcanheph: I remember when I worked in arcage back then in 2014 (the company produces boom and value choco) and pay 400 naira per day, even when the minimum wage is 18k the total I get in a month there no dey reach 10k a month sometimes, the owner (a Nigerian) will tell you if you are not comfortable please find a better job, if a vacancy post is announced on the signboard for 2 people, you will see 30 the next morning. Infact there are people in the company who have used 8 years or more collecting less than 30k a Month. 5 Likes |

Presently i'm working with a Chinese company here in Obasanjo Farms Obada and all i can say is God will help Nigerians. You work 24/7 (No day off), 7am-7pm, Day and Night shift (not all workers some are permanent day), you miss work no pay, the black manager is a dunce anything Chinese says goes, he constantly threaten to sack workers over little things. If you try to speak up against what you feel isn't right he threatens you and remove you from the WhatsApp group. Salary ranges from 28k-90k depends which department you belong to. Majority of the Chinese sees us as only God knows though very few are extremely nice. Working here is better than sitting at home but it should be for a stipulated time. Workand think of an exit plan. 4 Likes |

lavylilly: The answer isn't as easy as you think. Foreign companies tend to import the work practices back home. China with a per capita income of about $8,000 still has sweatshops. The name for workshops or factories that pay low wages, work long hours, in dangerous conditions with little or no labor rights are called sweatshops. Sweatshops thrive best on low wages. That's why they thrive in poor countries. When Hong Kong and other Asian economies started investing massively in desperately poor Chana in the late 1970s and 1980s,bthey brought in boatloads of sweatshop. It is a price many countries pay before they become rich. So, to get rid of sweatshops the economy needs fast economic growth so that as the economy becomes more prosperous, they may either improve working conditions or close shop and leave. Fast economic growth can also deal them a massive blow is that if the economy growth produces more jobs than workers needed, employees can easily find new jobs if they dump the one they are in. That's a tight labor market. In such a market, the employee is king, hence may force the sweatshop to pay better. Anotbet way is enforcement of labor laws. A salary of 18k is an abomination. The government may turn a blind eye because at the very least, it provides livelihood to many. The companies I am sure also pays taxes. Have you noticed many of these Chinese factories are in Ogun state? Lagos state has strong institutions and they'll probably be punished if they misbehaved. That's where enforcement comes in 8 Likes 1 Share |
