To me, CVs can lie but can experience lie? No... As for hiring a mistake, that's not possible if a proper test is conducted. You can go as far as testing candidate for the first week without proper employment. So, CV details are bull shit. There are people that their CV details are all true and great but they're nothing in the field. So, a proper test is better than background waste of time check. Action speaks louder than words. However, this advice is for inexperienced managers. Let's say a computer operator's job seeker says heaven and earth on cv. How do you find out? Just give him a computer and ask him to perform tasks for a period of time and that's all. All this cv false things nothing come out if the hiring manager knows what he really wants. What if you did all the background check and it's all true but the candidate lacks the required experties for the role? So, to me, the info their can't do anything. Salaries are discussed based on your companies capability and not based on another company's.
