HIV/AIDS is known to be a deadly infection.
It kills its victim/patient before he or she
recovers from it.So, people fear of death when
told they are HIV positive. But today, it seems
the dreaded disease has lost its destructive
power, as its patients no longer consider it
dreadful. A visit to HIV/AIDS screening centres
will prove this.

Unfortunately, l found myself in the APIN Clinic
of LUTH, where people visit to check for their
HIV/AIDS status.l was there for same purpose,
but thank God l was HIV negative, but what l
saw and experienced, the patients who came for
their drugs didn’t display any sign of bleak
future, l mean no sign of sudden death. Rather,
they were smiling, exchanging pleasantries,
addresses and phone numbers, drinking while
some turned themselves into comedians, making
the patients happy, though some of them looked
gone physically but spiritually, are alive.

Wondering over this,l didn’t know when l beckoned
on one of them and l politely ask him this provocative
question, don’t you know that this is serious issue?
I mean, this is death you are playing with. Do you know
his reply?

Who wants to die through HIV will die that way. By the
way, who will remain on this planet earth without death?

If patients of this dreaded disease can be without fear of it,
and that man is what he thinketh, it means HIV/AIDS has
lost its fear over its victims.

Not good, this makes it that much harder to eradicate. but am happy for the AIDs victims who can live normal lives.
