FORMER ACTING CHAIRMAN OF FEDERAL CHARACTER COMMISSION HON. ABAYOMI SHEBA SPEAKS ON RESTRUCTURING.

Many meaning Nigerians are calling for restructuring in national Assembly, Senate, police, our constitution, education, etc. But what is restructuring?

The former acting chairman of the federal character commission hon. Abayomi Sheba Esq in an elusive interview with eagle hedge online news spoke about the meaning of restructuring, the financial resources involved and the collaboration of all parties involved in the process of restructuring.

The former acting chairman of the federal character commission says Restructuring is an act of reorganizing the financial, legal, ownership, operational, or other structures of a company, business, organisation or nation for the purpose of making it more profitable, or better organized for its present needs.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba esq who is known as an advocate for good governance said with the intensified calls for the political and economic restructuring of NIGERIA, citing the devastating financial impact of the COVID-19, loss of oil earnings due to the crash in oil prices, insecurity and so much more, one is forced to ask, what are the benefits of restructuring?

Sheba said Restructuring Nigeria will help to reduce costs, incorporate new technology, make better use of talent, improve competitive advantage, decrease or consolidate debt.etc

The politician of note also said though Nation-building might be hard, but Nation-building is also intentional. It does not happen by accident. The test of building a nation is in the leadership and its actions that create the spirit of nationhood, and the willingness of every stakeholder to come together and build a united, stable and cohesive nation.

Sheba whose knowledge in Nation and development is next to nor said " as a country, as long as we avoid honest dialogue, which involves uncomfortable truths such as the cry of marginalization, restructuring, secession and the cry for justice in our country then it is obvious that we have chosen not to walk the path of nation building and development".

According to him, Martin Luther King said “the moral arm of the universe bends towards justice”. So the Federal Government, every man and woman in NIGERIA should take the agitations by various groups in Nigeria seriously so as to address the root cause of the country's problems.

Hon. Abayomi Sheba who said "We can not achieve greatness as a country without national unity, stability and cohesion" . also said "What we need is for everyone in NIGERIA to come together, bury the winner-take-all mentality that is driven by ethnic and religious sentiment and design a structure that works for us through real leadership, the right political will and total commitment to the citizens".

I've come to realize that any individual who's occupying a political office at a partiflcular time always see those agitating for restructuring as their personal enemies. The simple reason for this is those elected or appointed becomes a god either by constitutionality (president, governors) because they enjoy reckless immunity and the myopic followers start singing their praises.

Buhari neither recognize nor respect Federal Character in appointments, policies, utterances, and projects. I'm sure same Buhari be shouting ethnic blue murder if he was an opposition figure to the sitting president
