Hi nairalanders good afternoon,

I have lodged my application for OWP on May 19th, biometric completed, Medical passed (but no email notification). I was reading a thread recently regarding sending webform.

In my case, I have several landed properties and houses to my name. All scanned copies are over 126 pages. When compressed the size it was more than 4MB. When I compressed it more to fit in, it was 3.8MB but it was blurry so I decided to half the documents and send the rest as webform and explain my intention on why split the upload. All my properties are listed in my SOP as I want to have strong ties to Nigeria.

I want to ask was it a good decision to lodge my application with half of the property documents because they couldn't fit and upload the remaining as a webform days after?

@Frankrobbn1 @Justmellow @Adiekwe1@Lekiboboe @NairaLuck @justwise @Akannitommy and other gurus, please advise. Thanks

That can be an alternative to submitting a complete documents. You will have a place to explain the essence of the new document.

It will end in praise.

Hello, I also got a refusal on June 9. I applied by March 31st through an agent. I applied for undergraduate computer science at university of Lethbridge (this is my first degree). My sponsor who is my mom had more than 70k cad with a very good outflow and inflow (business and personal account). I also paid my tuition upfront 8k out of 20k cad. I also stated that he have several siblings on my sop here in Nigeria. I was devastated when I got a refusal. I've ordered for my notes hopely I will know what went wrong.

It is bad enough to get refused, but not been beaten is the strong spirit to getting victory.

Await your notes, see what the concerns are, address it and reapply.

I wish you all the very best in your reapplication. It will end in praise.

Hello everyone, I just got a mail from Lagos office that my tuition receipt has been added to my application.

1. Does this mean Lagos is the office handling my application?
2. I had previously sent 2 emails to add my IELTS and MBS to my application. But its only the tuition receipt that was acknowledged? Does this mean the other 2 have not been added and should I send another mail again or there's no need?

It does not mean that the office handling you file is Lagos, though they acknowledged.

On the other documents, you might and might not get acknowledgement, they still will get uploaded on you application.

Most file for Nigeria are in Nairobi case office, Frank and other guru said this sometime ago.

Be delightful, it will end in praise.

Thank you.
Thaiy:

It took 3 weeks to get an acknowledgement from them the last time I updated my application providing an additional document. I stated this sometime ago, if your application is within processing time, you did be lucky to get an acknowledgement which was my case.

Stay put, have faith, your application I'd been worked on, it will end in praise

Hello Kudiratu28,

Get the Employment Letter of Introduction to refer you as a permanent employee of the coy and that you have maintained a good relationship with the coy and that you are up or been considered for promotion.

It boils down to the tone and suitability (of the purpose). Include all the necessary evidence demonstrating your employment.

...

For those whose employment is of low wages or salaries, it will be advised not to forget to demonstrate "employability" and "available opportunities" (current employment situation in the home country and/or CoR).

Best of Luck

Thank you so much

@frankrobbn @lekiboboe @justwise and all gurus, at what point is it advisable to withdraw application? My gcms notes shows they haven’t assessed my file at all even after 3 months...

Sorry about this, why not keep sending web form messages and emails to them.

Besides, there was this timeline whose applicant thought there was no activities on the application, only to get a ppr request.

Kindly stay prayerful and hopeful, it will end in praise

Hello, thank you for your response, so you're saying if I send a webform they would send me an acknowledgement via email?

Yes, to your rhetoric. You will get a success full upload of application message.

Then, acknowledgement is a might or might not.

Are you pretty sure acknowledgement mails are sent for webforms? I believe that mail you got was because you didn't initially sent to Nairobi but the office u sent to confirmed receipt and must have told u to subsequently forward your documents to Nairobi where your file is being processed.
Someone else can correct me if am wrong tho

The will acknowledge receipt, and forward to the quarter handling your application. It will be stated in the acknowledgement mail.
@Lamideyy is right.

Cc @frankrobbn

For study permit, Canada immigration don't encourage people to settle in remote areas simply because they know that cost of education is relatively cheaper and international students easily can secure a permanent residence shortly after studies.

Just received my notes now

I used an agent before

I'll be needing your suggestions on the notes/reapplication.

Would you advice I pay tuition deposit??

There is no need making upfront tuition payment as it's not a prerequisite for visa approval. The issue with your application is the fact that you're using a third party sponsorship (Uncle) for your study permit and also there is no proof of ownership for the company's account you submitted with your application.

To address these concerns, get a close relative, your parents preferably to sponsor your education in Canada. As earlier advised, University of Regina don't require tuition deposit above $500CAD. Your father/mother should have adequate funds in their bank account to cover for your tuition, living expenses and other incidental expense in Canada.

@frankrobbn1 @everybody

Your sponsor is a third party (uncle), its practically irrational as to why an Uncle is spending so much on a niece to pursue a whole 4-year Bachelor's degree program in Canada. Please stick to my previous advise, use your parents as your sponsor if you want to get your visa approved.

Hello Frankrobbn1,

Thank you for your immense contributions. You are a gem.

A quick chip in; should the moniker (still) effect a change of DLI from within (outside) Canada, a new study permit will have to be applied for.

One love!

I greet you bro!

Are you saying that so long as the applicant has been approved whether the change of DLI was done inside or outside, a new study permit will have to be applied for.?

Confirm this information whenever you're available on here.

Good morning gurus in the house, please I need your help on choice of course and school for higher chance of visa approval.

My details is as follows:

Bsc Geography 2006
CGPA 4.64/5.00
Banking Experience- 13 years
MBA 2019

I was planning to apply for Graduate Certificate in Financial planning services at the Conestoga but not sure if my background and course choice would be seen as a red flag.

Thanks in advance for your assistance

Your pursuit can be aligned with your experience, 13 years experience in banking, it did be prudent you go for a finance related course, go for MSc if you can, it did show horizontal progression and a 2nd masters. A PGC dies not show career progression and so might raise the VO's brows.

I wish you all the best......it will end in praise

Good day house,

Please I would like to ask if it's necessary to add the notification/letter that comes with mybankstatement certificate. It states " The reference is neither a Guarantee nor a letter if Comfort and has been issued in attestation of the position of the customer's account, without any liability on the part of the bank or any of it's officers" - This was from Fidelity Bank.
Please I want to know if to detach the page from my bank statement or leave it that way. Please I need your opinion on this anyone. Many thanks.

@Frankrobbn1

Apologies for the late reply.

The mybank statement certificate accompanied with a six (6) months bank statement is sufficient for your application. As for the other attachment, kindly ignore/remove it.

Hi @Frankrobbn1,

I followed your advice prior to the screenshot attached below.

But My Ex-HR is asking if the letter should be addressed that I worked for the company before termination or addressed that I still work with the company.

Please bear in mind the last payment/payslip I received was in March 2020.

Also, a letter of termination was issued but do you advise I include it in the documents I'll be submitting or just omit it?

Thanks.

I want to believe you're asking this question probably because you're out of job at the moment. If this is the case and your Ex-HR is ever willing to issue you a reference letter, it should be stated that you still work with the firm. In all honesty, IRCC are not checking for salary deposits in your bank statement whenever it comes to study permit application. It's possible for an applicant to use their savings account which has more frequent transactions for their study permit instead of salary statement. Therefore, my advice is that you shouldn't include a salary statement in that regard, so you don't shoot yourself in the foot.

My simple advice for you is to forget anything that has to do with Canadian permanent residency at the moment as most outland applications that falls under that category (permanent residency) are presently on hold due to travel restrictions. It may also interest you to know that IRCC have not been issuing FSW draws to outland applicants for the past 5 months and still counting. As a consequence, study permit is the ONLY feasible and fastest immigration route to Canada.
