If you're going to be working on heavy 3D graphics, go for a laptop with these specs:

- Core i5 and above
- 512gb SSD (be it Sata or M.2)
- 8gb RAM (minimum)
- 2gb dedicated graphics

Normally, I'd have mentioned some things lesser but the above helps ease the laptop from overload and allow rendering process smooth out easily and faster.

You can also use AutoCAD on a laptop without a dedicated GPU but having a GPU frees the integrated graphics from stress, allowing it to process other normal functions while the GPU takes the load of design work.

There you have it. (Same advice for those having BIM or Orion softwares).

Recent generation processors, from core i3, 5th, gen, i5, 4th gen and above, minimum of 2gb dedicated graphics card from Nvidia or Radeon series, recent graphics chip with support for most features, e.g open gl cl,more shaders, gddr5 memory, more bandwidth interface. Not Intel integrated. 8gb ram minimum, 256gb SSD minimum. 1080p full HD resolution.
