The security operatives have successfully captured some suspected members of the deadly gunmen who stormed Owerri yesterday. According to the video circulating online, heavily armed men stormed the Orji Divisional Police Headquarters in Owerri town. The men who operated for close to an hour engaging Special Police Force in the noon were seen parading the streets before police engagement. This attack came few days after Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of the State affirmed his commitment to crush the enemies of the state and whoever is behind the attacks in the state. After the attack of the Orji Divisional Police Headquarters, police operatives trailed the group capturing five suspected members of the gang. As obtained by Channels TV, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Imo State, Mr. Bala Elkana, in his statement confirmed the attack and subsequent arrest of five suspected members of the gang. The five suspects arrested are Chigaemezu Sabastine, John Chinonso, Casimir Ibe, Chukwudi Okoro, and Alozie Daberechi. There's a thread here on nairaland of a girl who claims that the guy on white t shirt is her uncle who was innocently arrested on his way from work and labelled amongs the UGM.... I won't be surprised if the Police is just arresting random people and tagging them unknown gunmen..... They've done worse. 3 Likes |
