The Amayanabo of Twon Brass, King Alfred Diete-Spiff, has fled his palace after angry youths of the community carried out an attack on the palace during a protest, IgbereTV reports.

The youths who stormed his palace in their numbers were protesting against the Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC) in their community.

The indigenes were protesting against protracted power outages, refusal to pay indigenous contractors, and failure to meet its corporate social responsibility (CSR). The protest, which began on Sunday, May 16, and lasted till Tuesday, degenerated into a fight where some youths hijacked the rally and attacked the monarch and his palace. The monarch was immediately whisked away to safety by his security details.

I read and watch this episode with full hearty and gratitude. Mr. Alfred Diete Spiff is one of the moronic dingbats who sold the destiny of southern Nigerians to the northern Nigerian political elites. It is funny that Ijaw youths have to engage in crude oil bunkering to see another day while the sons and daughters of northern Nigerian political elites travel around the world in private jets. The after effects of crude oil operation in southern Nigeria will not even blow wind on the rich kids from northern region. There should be more destruction of living places of people such as Alfred Diete Spiff in next 10 years when the clever Europeans watch their hands off the crude oil.
