VACANCY: BAND E ASST. TRADE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The British Deputy High Commission is seeking to appoint a Band E Asst. Trade Development Manager based in Lagos. This is a permanent position (fixed term contract) that has recently fallen vacant.

The Trade Development Section of the British Deputy High Commission works to promote UK goods and services within the Nigerian market, by means of company visits, trade missions, exhibitions and seminars. This is a fixed term contract position working alongside the Trade Development Manager responsible for the power and education sectors.

The ideal candidate will:

Likely to be educated to at first degree level
Have current experience of trade promotion work OR be working in industry or business
Be highly motivated and able to demonstrate a record of success in their chosen field
Have confidence to deal with a wide range of senior British and Nigerian business people and government officials
Be willing to travel regularly within Nigeria (and occasionally overseas)
Have good time management and organisational skills and be used to working in a team
Be willing and able to take on responsibility for specific projects and see them through to a successful conclusion
Be a competent user of Windows based systems, Microsoft Office and Access.
It is essential that candidates have a high standard of written and spoken English.

This is a fixed term 12-month renewable contract from start date. Working hours 0730 - 1530 Monday to Thursday and 0730 -1230hrs on Fridays. The job will be graded Band E with a starting salary N113, 400 monthly including allowances (except Medical allowance).
