Edo state which was part of Western Region is currently called South South region not because it is but modern politics shape it so

Major classification of state base on their true location on latitude and longitude of the earth should not in any way make some people dunce

Most current geographical naming of some state is what is term GEOPOLITICAL AREA MARK THE WORD "POLITICAL" Although being established after the civil war to curtail the igbos it was used to check make the different minority tribes in Nigeria

While South West is majorly dense with Yoruba
South East is majorly dense with Igbos

South South was used to signify the middle, ex tribe which currently constitutes Rivers, Edo, Delta, Akwa ibom, Cross River.


So don't appear dunce know the difference between geopolitical zone and geographical area

Geopolitical zone in Nigeria was coined by dumb Abacha that doesn't even no the difference between Government and Gonment ... Many states were created by Soldiers out of stupidity... Delta was because of Marriam Babangida's influence on Head of State Babangida, Osun was created to please some military cronies


Only an extremely dull person would say the word middle belt or North Central in Geography

A pilot , geologist, architect , surveyor, sailor , astronaut , explorers, real soldiers, or anyone except Abacha won't even say the word North Central

It is meaningless on a standard navigational map and compass

True even some part of old Bendel state is Southwest..

If we draw four equal lines from the centre of Nigeria somewhere around Abuja the right geozones would even be visible to the blind deaf and dumb how our geography spreads

Sir, how are the regions different from the geopolitical zones or are they same?

Its very important to remember that while the 36 states are recognised by the constitution, the so called "geopolitical" zones are not recognised, and in effect, do not actually exist
