PRESS RELEASE!!!

NBC DIRECTS ALL BROADCASTING STATIONS IN NIGERIA TO SUSPEND TWITTER USAGE.

Consequent on the suspension of Twitter operations in Nigeria by the Federal Government over the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining the corporate existence of Nigeria, the National Broadcasting Commission directs all Broadcasting Stations in Nigeria to suspend the patronage of Twitter immediately.

In Compliance to the above directive, Broadcasting Stations are hereby advised to de- install twitter handles and desist from using twitter as a source (UGC) of information gathering for News and programmes Presentation especially Phone-in.

Section 2(1) rof the NBC Act entrusts the Commission with responsibility to ensure strict adherence to the national laws, rules and regulations.

Also, section 3.11.2 of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code provides that "the broadcaster shall ensure that law enforcement is upheld at all times in a matter depicting that law and order are socially superior to or more desirable than Crime and Anarchy.

Attention is also drawn to section 5.6.3 of The Code which requires Broadcasters to be mindful of materials that may cause disaffection, incite to panic or rift in the society in the use of a user generated Content (UGC).

Note that it will be unpatriotic for any broadcaster in Nigeria to continue to patronise the suspended Twitter as a source of its information therefore strict compiance is enjoined.

1. Bloggers and online newspapers rely on Twitter for broadcast which in turn increase revenue through Google adsense and other ad serving companies.

2. Customers resolve bank issues, open bank accounts and all via Twitter.

3. Telcos resolve issues faster on Twitter.

4. Brand Influencers make money by advertising and review products and services on Twitter.

5. International NGOs rely on Twitter to disseminate information.

6. World Governments use Twitter to pass and receive messages.

These and many more are advantages of Twitter, but these hemp smokers are bent on destroying Nigeria.

In fact any registered company still patronising the platform through any means, should be treated as an act of sabotage...and the license withdrawn immediately...

Is this real?

No regard to their followers on that platform to who they disseminate the news?

Why are they showing so much fury for an app, while keeping as silent as a graveyard over the hundreds of lives lost in just the span of a few days?

They can’t even keep a straight story, the spokesman for the government on channels went from blaming Twitter for Nigerias problems, to asking how they had the audacity to delete a presidents post. Which one is it?


The funny thing is, with all the killing and drama over Twitter, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria WILL STILL NOT COME OUT TO GIVE A LIVE INTERVIEW...

1. If this country have a Good government knowing the solution to this Agitation here and there is just to allow Regional
government in all Regions of the federation. with regional
resource control we all would watch Biafra and Oduduwa agitation die a natural death and the needles bloodshed will end naturally but they'd rather plunge this country to total
arnachy and destroy it rather than do the right thing

2. in 2015 the major security problem we had was Boko Haram and guess what? BH problem made Jonathan shift the election. this time we Got Boko Haram, Bandits, herdsmen crisis, UGM crisis and this is happening all over the Nation. APC in 2023 would tell you if Jonathan can shift the election date why can't we seeing the security issues in the country. while Jonathan on the other hand was doing all he can to reduce Boko Haram, this government will do nothing and keep shifting the election date till y'all are tired. so if you're thinking of waiting till 2023 to make a change thr ur Votes, Think again and think clearly. if ur citing fear of Army now to hit the street #June 12th I wonder what you'll cite in 2023
