50m will install 1000pcs of 300w solar panels making it 300kw of power production daily then run generator at night while saving 100m for wet batteries. In conclusion, 150m will give them 24hrs power everyday for the next 20yrs. Every year this school produces EE graduates yet pay this huge amount for power. Now, aiming 1mw of electricity is about half a billion. Why would they spend over a billion yearly on electricity. My brothers It is Biafra/oduduwa or nothing..no hope in UAR

Well, there is justification for the payment of N80 million monthly in OAU because electricity was stable during my 4 years studentship. Kudos to the current VC (Ogunbodede) for his developmental strides in OAU.

Now Nairalanders should understand why the fees are high. If you can’t cope, change school. Nobody made a law that education should become affordable. In fact, we have too many graduates nowadays.

Orlarholuwa:
Good evening Sir, Good evening Ma,

Please I need your help. I had a motor accident.

My name is Olaoluwa.
Two weeks ago, on 22nd of May, I had a motor accident on my way home in which my left leg got broken in three places. Two fractures in my Fibula, and one fracture in my Femur. And there is a long wide wound on the skin that covers my Fibula.

So far, my family and I, have spent #107,000 on the leg. Some good people from this forum have assisted me financially too. But I still need assistance.

I have spent all the money on me on the leg, my family have tried too. I need you to help me. I need financial assistance for daily care of my leg.

The bonesetter realigning my broken bones said it will take 6-8 months for my broken bones to join together properly.

Since I had this accident, I have been lying on bed all day. I can't do anything except to eat and take my drugs then lie down on bed again. My people now carry me to do the private things I do on my own. Can't go to the bathroom on my own, my brother bath me, I can't rush to the toilet whenever am caught short, have to call my people on phone to take me to the toilet.

Please help me. I am jobless, My parent are at there old ages, not a working class. I need financial assistance to continue my medication and take good care of my leg everyday.

God's blessings will continue to shower on you and your family. You will never lack money. God's protection will be on you and your family always. Amen

SOME PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM HAVE ACCUSED ME THAT MY ACCIDENT STORY IS FALSE AND SCAM.

BELOW ARE INFORMATION TO PROVE THAT I TRULY HAD AN ACCIDENT, I AM CURRENTLY RECEIVING TREATMENT AND NEED HELP.

We are using a local bonesetter to realign the bone and we hired a nurse who is giving me treatment at home. So I do not have hospital report or doctors phone number to provide.

But I can provide you with my phone number, house address (if you'll like to see my condition in person). I will also provide you with my Facebook link, check my Facebook profile picture and the picture attached below if they tally. Also check the face in my YouTube video and my Facebook profile picture if they tally.

My name is TUNDE OLAOLUWA

I live at Badore, Ajah, Lagos. No 4, Bakery Close, Badore - Addo Road.

The YouTube link below, shows me receiving treatment at the bonesetters place. I also make a video to show my face and my broken leg to let you know that my accident story is not fake or for scam.

Please help me. My accident story is real. In fact some people from the Islam section of this forum has been helping me since the first day I posted this accident story on the section.

80 million to do what ahbeg

Assuming OAU has a student population of 20,000, and half reside on campus.
That's 10,000 users of power daily in the hostels.

5 days a week, the 20,000 use power during lectures.

The staff quarters houses lecturers and their families, let's say another 5,000 people daily.

Then there are street lights and other none academic buildings that use power daily.

If you add it up and multiply the users/day by NERC price per Kw for the price band a University falls under, then you will see the N80m is plausible.

That's supposed to be a university! Universities are supposed to be leading the country in research. However, if the OAU isn't very verse in the sciences, it could collaborate with other capable institutions.

Please whoever is running the affairs of OAU and other universities in the country, look into investing in solar energy.

The students could actually carry out their research in related studies. Yes, science students could be guilded, or even coerced into carrying out the research.

You should ask questions if you don't know why. That's the only place you can be guaranteed 24/7 power supply for weeks without blinking. I am an alumnus so, I know better. The school generates its own power and power supply is no problem. Ask around, OAU na their papa.

That money in a year is more than enough to start generating their own power. There's no power outage in covenant university because they generate power and also have a way to sell the units to occupants residing within their domain.

The infrastructure installed for electricity transmission is very old, obsolete and inefficient. They were installed years ago, routing all the energy we need through them will burn them down, so instead of the government to upgrade the installations, they prefer to sell the excess to make money since it can't be stored

Do you think OAU is your 2 bedroom flat that will be powered by 300KW solar...lol. OAU is like a local government, with several transformers. You have the teaching Hospital, staff Quarters, Lecture theatres, Staff schools, religious buildings, OAU Dam (as the school generates it's own water supply), several research institutes, Student hostels, Factories, Markets, Offices, etc. OAU is One of the largest campuses in Nigeria and Africa. And the power supply on campus is almost 24/7, this is obvious from the little amount they spend on deisel. There was no interrupt of supply throughout my first semester on campus. That 300KW will be consumed by just one block in Awo hall of residence.
