GOV. UZODIMMA'S CONDOLENCE VISIT TO THE FAMILY OF LATE AHMED GULAK RECEIVES MIXED REACTIONS , AS KEEN OBSERVERS CALL FOR SAME GESTURE TO THE FAMILIES OF OTHER VICTIMS OF INSECURITY IN THE STATE .

Yesterday , Governor Hope Uzodinmaof Imo State , accompanied by a select friends , political associates as well as party men paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the Abuja residence of the late Alhaji Ahmed Gulak ; a respected APC national chieftain and former Special Adviser on Political Matters to former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Recall that the late Ahmed Gulak was in Owerri, the Imo State capital , for the Constitution Review, as he headed for the airport to catch up with a flight back to Abuja on that fateful Sunday morning , May31, 2021.

Oblivion of the dangers that loomed ahead , he chose to go in a rented car without any security details, but unfortunately met men of the underworld at the Obiangwu junction in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State,who intercepted his car and shot him in the forehead leaving him dead on the pool of his blood !

Following his tragic death in Imo State which raised eyebrow across the country as some parts of the state are currently embroiled by security challenge , a rather compassionate Hope Uzodimma despite his tight schedules and state issues of urgent attention before him left Owerri for Abuja ; where he was warmly received by the deceased family .

The governor, 4thestatereporters gathered, eulogized the late Ahmed Gulak for being on the side of truth and unity at all times ; as he urged the family to be strong and United as always.

Responding to his August visitors , the head of the family and first son of late Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, Dr. Mustapha Gulak thanked the Imo State governor and members of his delegation for their presence and condolneces at a trying time like this. Dr. Mustapha, particularly thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma for finding time to come despite his busy schedules as a governor .

Meanwhile, members of the opposition, the critics as well as other conservatives in the state had also called on the Imo governor to reciprocate same gestures to the families of the slain victims of the security impasse in the state , many , who fell to the stray bullets of both the security operatives and unknown gunmen during gun battles in different occasions.

Jasper Emeka who commented on the trending story on the official news page of 4thestatereporters.com asked a rehtoric question:

`` How many people or families have you visited in Imo State that was killed by the forces ?``

Just like Jasper Emeka , there are many people who have expressed reservations over the governor's condolnece visit in faraway Abuja when he had not visited atleast one or two true victims of the security impasse in his state .

To these conservatives, they believe in the old adage that: `` What's good for the goose is also good for the gander. `` As they opined that the governor should not be seen as representing only the interest of the political or business class , but must be a governor and father to both the rich and the poor .
