They don't have to be as rich as Lagos or Akwa Ibom to pay. If states like Ebonyi, Kwara and Osun that are not that financially buoyant in terms of federal allocation and IGR can pay, then the likes of Anambra and Imo have no excuses please. It's about getting their priorities right.

This our Governor in the person of Obiano is becoming useless as each day passes by, I don't blame them, they use first tenor to form saint, then automatically transform into indaboski in their second term...Only the revenues coming in from all the major markets in Anambra state is enough to settle minimum wages for workers, I don't even want to go into transportations...

Should we even be debating this?? You’re paying 9k minimum wage in 2015 when rice was 5k and dollar to naira was 190naira and fuel was around 100naira but you’re finding it hard to increase the minimum wage or increae worker’s salary even when everything has increased exponentially.

Based on the inflation level rice being 5k when minimum wage was 9k, now that rice is 33k, I believe minimum wage should be around 50k or 60k and this shouldn’t even be up for DEBATE at all.

At this rate, workers in Nigeria will keep working on the same salary till they die while the good and items they’re working had to get will keep becoming unaffordable, so what is now the essence of working?
