If the present NBC Act lacks the power to regulate Twitter, why did Lai Mohammed go ahead to suspend the use of Twitter in Nigeria?

Because he has a tyrant backing him.. And all opposition seem to be dead

Yoruba Muslims will never make any positive changes in Nigeria development.

Minister of information is a political appointment and should be void or get some power stripe off it, else minister will manipulate the whole country media outlet in the favour of a single person or political party just as Lia is doing.

Lia is not working for Nigerians interest but working for his master Buhari

There is division in every society.

Twitter promotes division in Nigeria and if u can't see it then I am done with this thread.
Secondly if social media helps in promoting division between u and Yoruba, u will find it difficult after the breakup, even Israel cant sleep with both eyes closed and u sre no way near israel in terms of combat and military strength, the bitterness and hatred is more prevalent on those that have access to internet thanks to how these social media had helped in promoting the division

Btw, why is regulating the activities of twitter by a govt giving u headache? Are u a conflict entrepreneur?

Pls don't be done. U haven't answered my questions:

1. Has there ever been a time that Nigeria was united?

2. How is Twitter promoting division in Nigeria? All these anarchy and division u mentioned, was it not in Nigeria before 2020?

3. Can u highlight d timeline of events of d 2020 protests and how Twitter was responsible for d destruction of property in Lagos on d said day?

4. Did d fact that d Czechs were still going to be d neighbours to d slovaks prevent Czechoslovakia from breaking up?

5. How does hausa, Yoruba & South south being neighbours after breakup now negate d reasons for breakup?

so twitter has every right to promote it?

2. How is Twitter promoting division in Nigeria? All these anarchy and division u mentioned, was it not in Nigeria before 2020?
shebi u dont know the meaning of "promoting"?

3. Can u highlight d timeline of events of d 2020 protests and how Twitter was responsible for d destruction of property in Lagos on d said day?
Twitter and other social media spreads the news and this gives people indirect information to do more harm

4. Did d fact that d Czechs were still going to be d neighbours to d slovaks prevent Czechoslovakia from breaking up?
shebi u know there is a difference between breakup peacefully and an antagonistic relationship?

5. How does hausa, Yoruba & South south being neighbours after breakup now negate d reasons for breakup?

When a fool get to a position of power, these are the kind of foolish things to expect. You will also leave that position and i pray the next person who gets in will just be as brave as Gen. Sani Abacha. Then, you will remember freedom of speech and Twitter.

If the present NBC Act lacks the power to regulate Twitter, why did Lai Mohammed go ahead to suspend the use of Twitter in Nigeria?

Because many of these companies are in the pocket of the government.

There is no legal backing for the suspension yet the foolish network providers decided to block it's access anyway.

They are all complicit in this nonsense.

People are diein by bandits or hunger and the only concern of this evil govt is Twitter, a desperate move to silence the people.

Oga. No body is silencing ur right to speak, except u are a conflict entrepreneur, I don't see why u should go against regulating the activities of social media.

A country is not governed by social media but by principles, if twitter can't regulate the kind of things people post on it, the govt will do that for them, else they should pack and leave, no one is bigger than the govt

The platform that is used to promote anarchy and division is not a problem? 2020 protest turned something else because of twitter, people loot shops and upload it on twitter and other got the info and continued the act.
Twitter is even worse than NL in promoting division, u might say Nigeria should break up, but that doesn't disprove the fact that the Yoruba's, Hausa and South south will still be ur neighbours if eventually the country breaks.

Twitter needs to be regulated, it is one of the problems the country faces.

In the typical Buharist fashion you display your blatant hypocrisy. You're talking about "regulating" social media because it is promoting division and yet you posted this.

You are part of the problem, in fact it's people like you who are the problem.

I deh pity Igbo cos another genocide is coming to that land, the last civil war will look cute cos now u will have nowhere to run to after making enemity with every region.

Ur worst option will be Rivers state cos all those ikwerre, kalabari and Ogoni militants will eat u for breakfast ehn.

Did I say I want war?
I said those that want and clamouring for war will have a nightmare when it starts and Rivers state will eat u for breakfast, and if there is anything, I am saying u should drop the useless war drum and embrace dialogue.

I am sorry, but my blame still goes to the yorubas who opened their eyes and encouraged the country to plunge into a river of fire by elect this wicked, vile, and evil administration.

When Lai mohammed was in opposition, would he have allowed the FG to enact anti-social media bill, with all the insult, falsehoods and propaganda that he propagated prior to 2015 elections.

Was Lair mohammed born shameless creature?
