As if all of them are not the same. That's the idea behind the licence in the first place, 'wreck the Naira and we'll get richer'. I've been in the business for years, I have NEVER seen a dealer sell to genuine travellers except we just need the travel documents for returns. ... anyways, Nigeria is dead and gone already. |

Asking BDC operators not to take advantage of arbitrage opportunities is worse than sticking topless girls with celibate priests for a week saying nothing will happen. And when one of the girls gets pregnant, you are so vexed for falling short of their celibacy that you lock them up! Who should be locked up: the priests or the person who placed the girls with the priests? This wide gap was created by Buhari when he assumed office in May 2015. The foreign exchange policies he introduced by bringing back pegged exchanged rates because "I do not know any country where devaluation has worked" . His refusal to close the gap between the official and parralel market rates is the prime reason for the arbitrage opportunities. Sanusi said the gap between the official rates and parralel rates should never be more than 3%. It's presently a whopping 20%,hence the juicy arbitrage opportunities. Emefiele should wake up to his responsibilities and tell off the president. He obviously won't and that's why GEJ placed him there in the first place as he wanted someone pliant and not a straight talking loudmouth like Sanusi. Hamza05: 2 Likes 1 Share |

ponziponzi:And this gets to the heart of the problem, which is uncontrolled inflation, not any supposed "hoarding" by BDC operators who are trying to make a profit doing something perfectly legal under Nigerian law. If Nigerians are clamoring for US Dollars, it's because Buhari's government (with Emefiele's connivance) has been printing money like no man's business to cover its obligations, which naturally leads to higher inflation, loss of confidence in the currency, and capital flight. The tendency to blame BDC operators for seeming* to take advantage of an opportunity created by bad government policy is nothing more than tribalism compounded by economic ignorance. *I say "seeming" because it isn't even obvious that the rank-and-file BDCs are all that profitable. I suspect it's only a highly connected few, like Aliko Dangote and the late Mamman Daura, who have a straight line to Emefiele to ask for large amounts of subsidized USD. |

Billyonaire666: According to Longman dictionary, an illiterate is one who don't have a clue of what the four walls of education looks like and can either write or read. it's quite thrilling that in ur quest trying to sound rational you rather exposure ur halfwit prowess. was even thinking twas a joke all along until you showed how numpty you can be. if ur talking bout resource control what on Earth resource do you nitwit think you control when you have Northerners controls bout 80% of the oil wells n the petroleum cooperation for decades with not good infrastructure for y'all that call urself one nonsense feeder?? on the other hands y'all are more like slaves tryna fight for what you said belong to y'all. these northerners then rub u guys head with scrubs and then there's silence and what happens?? ur people return to the same level of being serf as always, no good soil to farm, fish can't survive in ur water ways et al. be sensible to fight for a better living for ur folks instead of ranting gibberish all around on here. |

Kandeed: You have no idea of what you are talking about cos you do not travel out of your little comfort zone. Travel and see things for yourself and do not depend on false fed info. You are just not ready to see the truth. A Fulani man still repairs my slippers, man my gate and still park the bin outside my gate and I love them for that. And my Niger Delta still feed their accounts and give them money to buy arms to secure themselves, I know these. But I will not be insulted by anone in this country, be you Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba etc. I choose to share my resources freely, but there is a limit to my patience and benevolence. I am commanding you all to respect me. Otherwise, I will punish the parasites by stopping the flow of my resources from sources. I had 14 oil wells at my village and we block them all with sand. I am Oil and Gas. I walk tall and must be respected whether you want to or not. I asked for BDC License because I wanted to do the same thing Northerners are doing which are Money Laundering, Currency Trading and Hoarding... Abi na only one tribe and their willing slaves alone go chop that package while also taking my oil and gas? Love me and I will give you a piece of my wealth, hate me and you starve. When you are starved, I will no longer command you to love me, but to worship me in order to get a peace of my Petro-wealth. Ask around, we do not bow to greet. We are ancient warriors, We are Earth Spirits. 2 Likes |
