I always tell people, if Yorubas were given their country/region, they would be competing with Japan, Korea etc. Yorubas are really blessed with both human and natural resources. With just six states, they can rule the world. 7 Likes |

Workch: All these things are not necessary guys. Even keynas are not making gest of other cities in Kenya. See, in every country, there is always a commercial city. In Nigeria, it is Lagos. Lagos is the commercial city and attracts more Nigerians from other parts to live there. Reasons are many and politically motivated too. As a result, every state that is close to Lagos will tap from that close proximity to do well in stuff like this. Lagos is more like the main entry and exis into and out of Nigeria. Almost all major corporations have their main HQ in Lagos. Every country as big as Nigeria do have one major commercial city, and other smaller cities but there must be one major one. If not that in Nigeria, there are three major countries in one country with unitary system, this shouldn't be what we should use to make gest of one another. As long as Nigeria is structured this way, no state will ever beat Lagos state and Abuja in any form of development at all. Never. Except maybe the other nations in Nigeria leaves and for their own countries. 2 Likes |

ThEGodFaThEr103: You appear to be a seriously frustrated soul. I've watched your comments on this and some threads and so far I believe you must be really tired of life. Any opinion that is reasonable but different from your warped, prejudiced and hatred induced comments is "BMC sponsored". On a normal day, you should not be on this forum. The thread is a narrative that all well meaning Nigerians should be proud of but you used it as an avenue to display your crass stupidity. Is it only in Yoruba land that fetish practices are carried out?. Think deep and answer this question with your brain, not through hatred. If you are jealous of the development of the south west, why don't you take the governors of your Biafra republic to task and force them to spend your Commonwealth judiciously rather than looting it. You know and the whole world knows the degree of financial improprieties going on in your zone but in your usual hypocritical manner, you see the speck of wood in the eye of others while ignoring the log of wood in your eyes. 3 Likes |

Princedapace: I like your write-up, but I beg to differ on the latter part of your message. Some states get revenues from the FG plus their IGR. Infact, what some States command as income surpass what some countries in Africa generate. Until our state governors become proactive and begin to judiciously use what accrues to the state, even if they are given Lagos to govern, there won't be an appreciable improvement. Also, another factor limiting most states is the Constitution. Until some items are removed from the exclusive list of the FG and states are empowered to control their resources, we will always remain on a spot. 1 Like |

post=102934475: If it were an aboki that is writing this, I wouldn't have responded. I expect you as an Igbo guy to be slightly above our aboki brothers from the North. How the number of micro finance banks and the number of banks in a particular state correlate with the development of the state is still a mystery. Stop exposing your hatred and bigotry online; it sucks. 1 Like |
