Hello experts in the house, I need advice on the followings, regarding a tokunbo RX300 I just bought.
1. What type of engine oil is best for servicing the vehicle
2. It’s showing Check engine light and also displays VSC, what does that mean and what should I do
3. I want to replace the rear shock absorber, which absorber is better, brand new or tokunbo, and what’s the price idea for both
4. I noticed 2 days ago that the engine will not start in the morning and evening after parking for about 9-10hrs due to battery, unless I jump start it
5. Lastly, what generally should I be doing to maintain the vehicle.

1. The type of engine oil to use is written on the cap you removed to pour engine oil during servicing . However I do use total quaz5000 5litres will be okay for that car cos is v6. ..the last time I serviced I bought it for 7k at total filling station

2. Check engine light is a sign something is wrong especially when is blinking . Solution give it to a good mechanic to scan ...the codes will will lead a good mechanic to the solution

3. Buy bran new shocks ...the tokunbo shocks we use to trust in the past is now rubish ...infact the gas it and rap it for naive people to buy.

4. Call a good rewire to look into the battery charging system ...especially the alternator ...he should be able to check if the battery is in good condition ...otherwise replace the battery with bran new battery ...before doing this let the rewire check the alternator to ascertain is working perfectly . Also check if there are things you are carelessly doing .i.e. not locking the doors properly ...some light being on.

5. Your car will last long as long as you maintain your schedule of serving . My mechanic use to put sticker that reminds me on my next service date. Buy oil only from filling stations...i.e. if is mobile , buy from mobile filling station ...if is total buy from total filling station. Always check your radiator water level to ensure is okay. Service your gear with the recommended transmission oil ..is written on the dip stick ....that long stick you use to check your gear oil level .
