MadamExcellency:

You are not conversant with the debate from the article. You have nothing meaningful to contribute.

All the contributors in the article were warning Ms Ahmed to restrict borrowing to domestic sources to preserve the dollar for other useful purposes other than debt servicing. Foreign borrowing is a trap and shortest route to debt default.

NB: Ngozi Okonjo Iweala statement on borrowing to pay salaries didn't connote paucity or absence of funds rather, the 2014 budget ran its course before the new 2015 budget was passed and signed by the government. You cannot pay salaries with funds not approved by National Assembly as captured in the budget. The best was to borrow domestically and a pay immediately the budget was signed.

I guess you didn't read the question i answered.
You are correct about Ngozi Okonjo Iweala on the reason for the borrowing and i gave answers that she never borrowed for infrastructure and wasn't in need of credit of anyform.

So this illiterate economic clown of a minister thinks she is in the same class as the legendary economic Amazon of NOI type? I guess it is the same Zainab Ahmed of a minister that said Nigeria has not reached its borrowing limits or cant stop borrowing?

Madam continue.Until China take over Nigeria or this country is advertised for sale on OLX, ebay or Amazon before your eyes will clear.
the last time I checked China owes over 8 trillion dollars
The borrowing is not the issue but it's use

And no country is taking over Nigeria cause of loan even USA debt is over 5 trillion dollars

UK over 4 trillion dollars

So your main concern should be the use of such loans

Thank God for Social Media.

We don't even know who to believe.

Make we wait for the minister of Information. Na new figure that one go release.

WHY SHOULD I TRUST OKONJO IWEALA EITHER. SHE WAS BORROWING TO PAY SALARIES DURING HER 5 YEARS WITH JONATHAN WHEN OIL WAS SELLING AT $100+. BUHARI IS BORROWING FOR INFRASTRUCTURE WE CAN SEE. NIGERIAN ELITES ARE HYPOCRITES. WHEN THEY ARE IN POWER, THEY’RE CLOUDED WITH THE POWER OF THE OFFICE AND THEIR TRIBES, OUT OF POWER THEY BECOME ANGEL EXPERTS AND PROFESSIONALS DISHING TEXTBOOK ECONOMICS.

This govt can lie! The other day I think, this woman also said gov has spent $5B or so to alleviate poverty.
And they're banning twitter for fake news and misinformation. Who is misinforming who?

Too bad that the debt burden is high.

It is also worrisome that 'they' are even planning to borrow more!.

Our government need to create wealth locally and finance most of the infrastructural projects without having to embarrass us all the time by their habit of uncontrolled borrowing.

However, does any one notice that Nigeria still has the least debt-to- GDP ratio amongst the countries sighted according to our own world renowned Ngozi Okonjo Iweala?

Does it mean that Nigeria is doing better than most African countries?
