How The Universe Ends by TheSourcerer: 8:52pm On Jun 27, 2021 |
The idea that the Earth would come to an end is a well known fact and how it will come to an am basically are two ways 1. Ourselves Wars, Overpopulation, AI going crazy , Nuclear wars ,runaway green house effects, etc 2. Nature Gamma bursts , babbon uprising (yes this is could happen) , super volcanoes. Theses are statistically likely to happen sometime in the future especially the baboon uprising . The Average reader here on Nairaland is 30, that means you have spent 0.000002 percent of the existence of the universe which is amazing really our existence is litterily a dot In 13. 8 billion years the Earth is , btw the dinosaurs survived more than humans have before the meteor hit ,we literally are a speck of dust amongst . How the Earth will End The Sun is a main sequence star , fussing hydrogen to helium , giving gravitional force pulling in and the fission pushing out, after a billion years or so , the sun becomes a Red Giant by this time the Earth is scorched The sun is estimated to have helium to burn still for the next 3billion years then all the oceans becomes dried,as the sun later burns out and becomes a white drarf. And of course the Earth will be like venus now, a planet that really looks like a burnt Each. How will The Galaxy end ..... The milky way is where our solar system calls home , where we call home , but in 4 billion years time our closet sweet cousins the Andromeda Galaxy would come colliding with the Milky and form what has already the milkdromeda , a super galaxy of sort , this bang creating more stars and there fore planets . Hey the good news is at least in the next billion of years we won't be here we would be galaxies away maybe coming new planets or stars even , everything you should know is meaningless but hey make use of the consciousness, enjoy each breath you breathe , breath deep, relax . Those living in bliss (Theists) hope you have a lovely life . |

The mere fact that you believe or think or even consider that the universe would end makes you a theist, because theism is the only place you can get the idea of the universe ending from! A scientific thinking person would reason that though it is claimed that the universe came into being out of nothing billions of years in the past, it is mere speculation, the same as "God said", and such scientific reasoning would make scientific minded people hesitate at theistically predicting the future that might be billion of years away or even never. They'd at least reason that all that is before us and which constitutes the universe, as in the stars and the planets and the sun in our galaxy, and all the other stars and the planets and the suns in the other numerous uncountable galaxies, can not possibly just come to some sort of end! You bloody theist! |

TheSourcerer:You are talking of billions of years to come and you are saying "we". Who are the "we" that will still be alive in billions of years to come? That is BTW, all these are just theories, there's no reasonable evidence to support it. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hmm I could well be a Theist , Budda We have seen other planets and Suns explode It's definitely not religious but scientific fact as we have seen that the Earth would end. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: How The Universe Ends by budaatum: 3:40pm On Jun 28, 2021 |
TheSourcerer: You "have seen that the Earth would end", or some "we" told you they "have seen that the Earth would end" and you believe they saw, like the theist believes the prophets and then claims adamantly to have seen what they've been told though they merely believe and often lie or can't separate fact from fiction? I present the Prophet and High Priest Isaac Asimov (I'm searching for a pdf for you because its a must read)! And here are more fictional Tales About Dead or Dying Worlds. 1 Like

Re: How The Universe Ends by IMAliyu(m): 6:12pm On Jun 28, 2021 |
budaatum:Lol. Yes, calling it The end of the universe is wrong. The idea is if space keeps expanding at an accelerated pace (we don't know if this will change), then there will be a point in a far distant time, when two atoms in space will probably never interact again, and space will be expanding at a speed that exceeds the speed of light, so not even light (photons) will be able to interact with anything ever again. This is the theoretical heat death of the universe, but no one is certain that this state is permanent, or the beginning of the cycle for a different universe. 1 Like 1 Share |

Since it's unlikely that we'd be observers to the heat death of the universe. Let's focus on how humanity may end itself, or in an optimistic scenario, survive for a couple of million years. There is a more likely hood that we end ourselves, rather than nature killing us. If we never overcome our tribalism and ideological fights, or maybe our curiosity is what ends us. All it would take one foolish action from someone in a position of world power. Remember when Trump was threatening N.Korea, with how much bigger his nuclear lunch bottom was over Twitter? Or how covid19 has some compelling evidence that it may had been a lab leak from a "gain of function research" Or how before the first nuclear bomb was ever tested, some scientist were concerned that it could set the earth's atmosphere on fire, but still proceeded with testing it, and we were lucky that didn't happen. Or how before the Large Hadron Collider (particle accelerator) was ever tested, no one was sure what outcome it would give, some theorized that it could create a blackhole, or rip spacetime, luckily non of that ever happened either. So, how long will our luck last before something terribly goes wrong and we can't reverse it? Although I hope humanity survives long enough to explore and inhabit other worlds and stars and leave a mark in the universe beyond this planet. 2 Likes |
