An MSc is a higher degree to a 2.1.

Now if u know somebody who knows somebody, then all u need is a pass or 3rd class & U can even get into A list agencies in Nigeria without even bordering to attend the interview.

Experience- companies will take someone with years of real live experience before someone with little experience but a master's degree.

connection- most job vacancies are taken before announcement.

your experience and skills (data analyst, web developer, typewriting ,HSE , engineering repairs,programming etc) helps more than your masters degree (Nigeria churns out hundreds of thousands of master degree holders yearly)

It depends on the sort of recruitment.

It's well valued in the academic line of recruitment, most especially tertiary institutions.

You're suppose to have an edge over the 2.1 candidates, but it's seems education is gradually been relagated in our society (Nigeria).
A 2.1 result is not equivalent to a masters degree. The same way A1 in all subjects in SSCE cannot be equated with a degree. Also, a master degree is not the same with a PhD certification.
I don't know this trend in Nigeria now where people tend to write off education.
Imagine a country where almost everyone is rich but uneducated.

Even with master it wount still guarantee the job


Most company now they dont even care about the degree so far you are a graduate and the benefit you can bring to the company
