An unspecified amount of decayed foreign currencies in the house of a deceased Customs Officer in Kano included US dollars and UK pounds sterling among others was yesterday recovered.

Under the Earth’s surface covered by polythene bags were the heap of the recovered currencies. This was revealed during refurbishments of the house near the FCE Kano in the customs quarters.

When the officer of the deceased was alive without informing relatives or associates the currencies were supposedly buried.

The deceased was one of the senior officers in the Nigerian customs office at Kano, though the name and rank of the officer were not made public.

NG Times Online News has found that research is ongoing to reveal both the real owner and the reason for burying the decayed currencies.

Same happened in Abraka, Delta state many years ago. A Nigeria businessman based in Liberia came home, wrapped his savings (US Dollars) in poly bags without revealing the content to his family.

He dug a hole in his room, called his children and told them the content of that poly bag is the family god, who protect the family always. He told them, the only thing the so-called god require weekly is palm oil. He instructed them to pour palm oil on the spot where the poly bag is buried, this the children judiciously obey for a period of 3 years he travelled back to Liberia.

Upon his return, he dugged out the poly bag to check if the money was intact. Unfortunately for him termite was attracted to the very spot the oil was poured and they ended up destroying/eatng up the money.

When he discovered this he bursted into tears uncontrollably and the children ask why. He told them the true story of his life savings (US$) which was destroyed by ants.

The son who always oil the buried poly bag started crying, he was asked why are you crying? He said he is not crying because of what happened to his father but rather because of the money he spent to buy palm oil for over three years just to honor his father's instruction.

Many children, wives and family are suffering today not because they are destined to suffer but because of the lack of trust or foolishness from their parent(s).

You buy land, build houses, banked money in banks home and abroad, you have investment yet none of your family members know of these savings and when you die other people enjoy why your family suffer.

Let's be wise.
