CITATION TECHNIQUES

Good scientific practice requires that text or research results produced by others are clearly and consistently cite the source when using the results or findings of other authors. Thus gives credit (and primary responsibility) to the person who is the source of the information.
the source of the information. The biggest mistake is to claim the results of others as one's own. References are used especially at the beginning of the work, when describing the environment and background information, and the results when comparing results.

Citation includes two main elements:
1) a reference in the text and
2) a bibliography, which contains the individual (bibliographic) details of each source for university essays for sale is identified uniformly and briefly in the text so that it is uniquely linked to a specific publication in the bibliography. The bibliography consistently describes each
basic information about each source, enabling anyone to search for the publication.

Use of sources in the thesis
University students should use and apply previously produced knowledge in their work. In theses, bibliographical references also provide the reviewer with an overview of the quality and reliability of the work and the author's knowledge of the subject. References
indicate the author's knowledge of key publications and researchers in the field.
The author uses the information provided by another researcher to justify his/her own choices and omparing different research results. The source proves that not only the author but also someone else holds a particular view and the claim is not necessarily without merit. All from
However, not all sources of information are equally respected and reliable. The quality and quality and usefulness can be assessed by paying attention not only to peer review but also to the following the author, the community of publication, the sources used in the publication and the accuracy of the information.
Any online material cannot be used if there is no guarantee of publication or permanence or permanence; for example, miscellaneous hobby sites and discussion forums are not very reliable. Some online resources can be used judiciously, for example, standards or company websites. Although Wikipedia is useful for starting to search for information, it is not recommended as a source for a thesis.

Numerical and name-year references
This section introduces 2 common ways of labelling references:

1. numerical citation system (Vancouver system), e.g. [1], [2]...
2. name-year system (Harvard system), e.g. [Weber 2001], [Kaunisto
2003)...
The numerical reference is placed in square brackets and the name-year reference in curly brackets. First the former uses sequential numbering and the latter uses the author's surname and year of publication.
Both types of citation are allowed and their frequency varies from sector to sector. Your instructor can help you choose the most appropriate method, and you will also get a good idea of what you are reading the source material you read. Numerical citation is the most common method in many technical fields, for example IEEE database of over 3 000 000 engineering publications. In contrast in fields such as industrial economics, knowledge management and architecture, the name-year reference is predominant. Use the system of your choice systematically without confusing them.

Numerical citation is compact, but does not directly indicate the author. In this case, the reader must check the author's details in the bibliography if they are relevant. The author (and also the year) is However, it is simple to cite the author where appropriate, e.g. 'Weber stated as early as 2001 that ...." The name/year reference takes up a little more space, especially if there are many sources
successive sources. It also has more exceptions. On the other hand, it requires less less work if for some reason you can't use the automatic numbering in a word processor and cross-referencing. So there are pros and cons to both systems. Choose one and be systematic in your use of it.
