How Laycon is Set To Succeed In The Music Industry

Being an Ex-Housemate From the BBNaija live show, you'd have to work twice as hard to create a brand that won't always be associated with the show. BBNaija is undoubtedly an excellent platform for anyone who would want to put themselves out there for a wider audience, but when the show ends and the years go by, the fame somehow goes with them.

For Laycon, it's a unique case, considering that most show winners in previous seasons have either gone awol or in some crisis with their career choices. Laycon has stuck with his music career. He had always said it'd been all he'd ever wanted - to promote his sound.

Many fans and critics have had different opinions about Laycon's sound; some have even opined that he wouldn't last, considering that the fame that comes with the show tends to stay for a year. And Laycon's art requires a massive number of fans.

However, it doesn't seem like he'd fade soon; when you take it back to his EP, "Who is Laycon," that trended while he was in the Big Brother's
house and has garnered over a million streams on audiomack in a short while, his hit single, "Fierce," which influenced most people with the slang, "awa fierce" at the time, to his latest album, "shall we begin"; Laycon has shown that he understands music and as such can stand the test of time.

With his flawless participation in the new school sound - a blend of rap and singing, he's not only showing confidence in understanding the Nigerian music scene. Still, he is also staying ahead and not getting lost in the mix.

His recent album has struck 20 million streams which are the first of its kind for an Ex-Housemate. Not to mention his many ambassadorial deals that surpass that of his colleagues.

Maybe 2020 wasn't such a great year for musicians, especially rappers, because of the safety precautions that came with the pandemic-- that led to zero live shows or performances. Still, it's only halfway through 2021, and Laycon isn't relenting with his sound.
