It was history-making event 21-year-old Unizik student, Chioma Emilia Nwankwo became the youngest Nollywood Movie Director following the debut of her short film, SCAR, which recently premiered in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

A quite didactic, thought-provoking and intriguing movie, SCAR captured the issues of rape, child molestation, drug abuse and depression, which the young Director, Nwankwo believes have become very worrisome and recurring societal issues and social maladies both in Nigeria and some other parts of the world, and therefore needed to be addressed.

Emilia Nwankwo who is a 200-level student of Theatre and Film Studies in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, also featured most of her talented fellow students who have burning passion flair for acting.

Speaking with newsmen, Nwankwo revealed that she had always loved, wished and dreamt to be a movie director since her childhood, and therefore described her emergence and the release of the movie as a dream come true.

While encouraging other young and aspiring movie enthusiasts to remain focused, committed, creative and professional in the field, she appreciated everyone who contributed in one way or the other to the success of the the movie and the event, even as she pledged to keep riding higher in the field.

"I believe my best is yet to come; so anticipate something new sooner than later. I have started, and I am going forward by God's grace. Ahead ahead we move," she said.

Some of the crew members of the film include Filmmakers Michael Chineme Ike and Benneth Nwankwo who supported as Screenplay/Executive Producer and Cinematographer respectively, among other promising and established movie icons.

SCAR which premiered in Awka on Saturday 10 July will also premiere at Onitsha on July 25 and in Abuja on July 29 before its official public release on a platform that will be made available later.

SCAR is indeed a must-watch, beholding the amazing work of this 21-year-old adept damsel who has diligently proved to be a prospective legend in the field and movie industry, expectedly in the nearest future.
