Has FG Blocked VPN Services In Nigeria? by updatedws: 4:31pm On Jul 15, 2021
I tried enabling my VPN today and it says forbidden. I checked online to learn the possible reasons for the error message and results pointed to my internet service provider (ISP)

I quickly called my sister and she confirmed she is facing the same challenge.

pls anyone here knows if VPN services have been disabled by Nigeria Telcos because of the current FG/Twitter face off?

Hmmm. It's coming home and those using VPN may just need to have a rethink .

Just today alone is report that Nigerian embassy in Germany seems to be successfully using administrative tactics to execute security recommendations against those Nigerians already identified and profiled from their online and financial activities as promoting secession from overseas and most will have no choice than to come back home in few months or have to remain stateless http://saharareporters.com/2021/07/14/germany-based-nigerian-loses-job-after-embassy-denied-his-passport-renewal

. Now this report of VPN no longer working .

Obviously, Nairaland is not annonymous as you think. The social media regulation through existing legitimate administrative and technical means that you don't need a national assembly act to execute has actually started and it's sequel to the high level authoritative security report quoted by the President himself that the EndSars violence was an insurrection to violently overthrow the government .

Existing laws are adequate to permit government to suspend Twitter, block vpns, deny you passport renewal, Immigration clearance, access your bank account , track your call logs, monitor your online comments, block your SIM, gain entry into your location etc. if you break the law even online just like breaking the law offline .

New laws are not needed to start a nationwide surveillance system like the Falcon Eye https://www.nairaland.com/6650651/nigerian-navy-launches-falcon-eye

Once again, if you have been careless and reckless online before, don't be any more. Criticise in a civil way with facts and intelligent perspective, don't make libellous, treasonous or criminal remarks and don't think you can scam people online and get away with it for long or forever . Think well again before you post reckless remarks, scam or troll online, abiding by this advice may just be your saving grace.

Sincerely, ask yourself, what will you lose if you don't scam, troll and when you criticise government, you do so in a civil way with facts and figures using decent non-libelous words like you do in real life ? Nothing sir. wink
